I have been to Vulcan values a couple times, and both times I was looked at like there is nothing really here for you, and wasn't really talked to... I understand they are trying to focus on more the novice vapers and that's great! But us more advanced users like to buy stuff to from time to time even if its nothing more than a twist to keep charged up as a backup...

I think the best way to put it is that I felt ignored the second time I went in and the first time the guy didn't know what they were selling and had to keep referencing a cheat sheet and they only carry around 3-5 juice vendors that I could see.

I dunno I guess their business practices didn't sit well with my inner salesman(did it for 8 years) I think i just expect too much sometimes because if I take the time to walk into a b&m no matter my experience I expect them to try and sell me something no matter if its trying juices or some new tank that's better than my RBA I built 2 hours ago.

I will say that their prices weren't ridiculously high and the selection was decent with a couple different options as far as batteries and atomizers go, but since I wasn't really talked to I can't vouch for there knowledge base.

The last time I went there, I was helped by someone who did not know anything about Vapeing really! I knew more then he did! But he seemed to be a newbie Vaper so I helped him out and got him some good info of some stuff! Also the last time I went there I had about 3 or 4 people crowded around ME asking ME questions and the people that worked there were behind the counter doing nothing

I get the b&m pricing! They can't compete with online venders because of the over head!! Vulcans pricing is not that bad! But there staff is really what kills it for most! Also you have to think that most b&m stores cater to the newbie Vaper. For me I would much rather support a local b&m then order offline because I enjoy the retail experience, not because I wanna save money! Being able to hold a mod in my hands and tinker with it before I buy it plays a huge part in my purchases! But Vulcan really need to educate there staff of the lingo and ins and outs of Vapeing instead of feeding a load of bull to the customer!

this is defintiely true CES, but pizaul1986 basically made my point in the original post, it's the staff that are the issue... and while yes its a great place to start out for the newbie, the staff should be knowledgeable enough that they don't feel inferior talking to people like us, and thats mainly so that the newbie gets a correct education in the first place so that we dont have to go and reteach them down the road.

and no, their prices arent too high considering the overhead that they have to cover, considering that they are honestly pretty reasonable.

I haven't been to Vulcan Vapes, so I can't offer an opinion in any way of them.

With that said, I have a friend who is opening a B&M soon off of hwy 280. They are still remodeling the space, but it will be at 4673 Hwy 280, Suite 8, Birmingham. I haven't bought from them, but Amy & Tony are both good people.

I haven't been here on ECF in quite a while, so I am not sure of what links I can and cannot post, but you can find them, and the link to their online store, on FaceBook as Lizard Juice 280-Birmingham.

They also have a couple of coupons valid at their online store right now - promo code "280" for 10% off your order up to $99 or "25OFF" for $25 off any order over $100!

I must admit that I am surprised at the reviews for Vulcan Vapes. I understand this is a stale thread...

I had a very good experience there on 1/7/2014. Myself and a friend stopped by and found ourselves very pleased. Looking around, they have a pretty good supply of hardware and a great supply of juice. Being a new vaper (1/24/2013), I did not go in looking for the high speed mudflap stuff. I just wanted to find a local store that has a decent supply of knowledge, juices, batteries, and atty's. In my opinion, they have it.

We spent a good hour trying new flavors, talking with staff (while busy, they remained very attentive and helpful), as well as listening to and chatting with some of their customers. These customers ranged from as new to vapeing as me to a couple of crusty guys that probably once used flashlights and car batteries to power their homemade/handmade MODs. Educational as well as entertaining!

While we really only wanted to look around and sample some flavors and purchase one or two... (Everybody knows stuff is cheaper from the internet!) We happily spent well over $100.00.

We will return.

(On my Alabama honor, I am not affiliated with these guys in any way...)
