Slow loading?

It's making me not want to be here...I don't understand why this is a constant problem. Just annoying.

Where are you experiencing the slow loading? It is expected in the mega threads but If you have slow loading for a "normal"thread please provide an example of a url and the output of a traceroute so we can see if there is a problem in between you and the ECF servers.

In the nearly two years I have been on ECF I have rarely had slow loading anywhere other than the "mega threads" but I am absolutely willing to pass on the info to our tech staff for troubleshooting.

i have had slow loading on the mega threads and once every blue moon on the whole forum (it is when someone allow classy to practice as an admin ...just kidding ),i have always notice that i have more problems when i am connected using Comcast

Here, not sure if I did it right, but I ran a trace while the forum hung up on me a few minutes ago (for close to a minute and a half) trying to load this sub-forum, trace finished several seconds before the page actually loaded, then another after the page loaded and my browsing had returned to normal. Huge difference in lines 2 and 10 between the two results

Well, it is in a mega thread. That is where I hang out. What does it matter if it's in a mega thread, can't that be fixed? It never used to be a problem until lately. It seems like since mega thread are popular and where lots of people hang out there, it would be a priority to have a fix for it.

i have found there's little correlation between loading time and size of thread. when i had problems in the past even threads in ''site feedback and help'' took forever. atm, with ecf working fine for me, all threads, including mega threads, come up pretty speedily.

Doesn't seem to matter what thread / forum area I click on, it's just slow as can be, 6-10sec page loads. And it's not a bandwidth issue on my end during the day, I have 100mb straight to my desktop at work.

The reason I ask for a forum location, a reasonably accurate time, and for a traceroute is twofold. The location and time help us look on our end to narrow down possible server faults. A traceroute is important because it doesn't matter how fast your connection is if your routing takes you on a bad hop. The rest can be attributed to server loads and page design issues (social media loading, etc). SmokeyJoe has made it a personal priority for the tech staff to work on these issues and reinforced this to me only yesterday.

I didn't get the trace route portion, sorry oldsoldier, but when / if the issue pops up again, I'll grab that for you as well. It was most of the day yesterday for me up until around 8PM EST or so.

Yeah, this has been my recent experience, too. When it's super slow it doesn't really seem to matter what thread or sub forum I'm loading. Tends to be intermittent, usually only lasting a few minutes then back to normal for a little while
