I don't doubt I could learn it, but I guess that's the point - it took me about twenty minutes to figure out how to work my SVD

I'm sure I could leave it alone for a month, pick it up drunk and in the dark, and figure it out again more or less instantly. It is simply a nicely designed, intuitive interface.

I find it vapes fine, but I would eventually like something better built, and generally made with a little more 'craft'.

But I'll wait for a while - I imagine the next generation will have more options for interfaces, and higher amp / lower resistance limits. I don't really go below ~1.5 ohms at present, but I've got a dripper en route which is designed for dual coils, so more head room is definitely preferable.

yea I tend to agree. i put a kayfun on it and i think the last time i changed anything was over a week ago, never understood why some play with the settings so much (no offense)

Really depends what you're using. If I'm dripping, sometimes I want to be able to tune the power without thinking about it that hard. 3 buttons makes a lot of sense for that.

The question of buttons and interfaces is always a matter of taste and what everyone finds better for themselves, there's no arguing about anyone's taste and preference because people always differ in what they want - this definitely drives the industry to make more products and give us better variety. In the end, it's all about the vape that you get from the device - the semovar with a KFL on top definitely does give a good vape Now I'm going to try a mech mod - there's definitely no interface to play with there

Haven't gotten into dripping yet - there it would probably make more sense if you are switching flavors often and every flavor has its own sweet spot in terms of power.

That's true to a massive extent - but there are also objective ways to measure 'user friendliness', like how long it takes you to learn to do something, and time on task and error rate once you've learned.

It's not disputable that a three button interface allows you to fiddle more easily and efficiently. I freely accept that it's disputable whether fiddling is a good thing, but you know, sometimes the mood takes you...

Also, the amount of juice in the coil varies depending on where you are in the 'drip cycle'. So unless you're chucking a drop in after every few pulls, it's nice to be able to turn the control lock off, and just adjust as you go.

Same here, only make changes when I switch to something with a different resistance coil. I try to build them the same, this way, there's less changing to do.

I just think I'd prefer to have that option - and I suspect a lot of people would. One of the reasons I think the Semovar's modular approach is very good. If they can keep electrical efficiency losses from the joints between the sections down (which it seems they have).

More buttons instead of menus is definitely not disputable - my other hobby is photography and making changes to settings via buttons on the fly on the body of the camera instead of having to go into a menu to make the same change not only saves time but also helps not being annoyed while shooting.

Have to try dripping at some point, sounds like a whole new level to vaping in terms of taste and technique

I'm no expert. But I'd highly recommend picking up an Igo-L. They're so cheap it doesn't really matter if you hate it - and it's very easy to learn the basics.

I've just ordered a Cyclone / Cyclops, and a Reo Grand / Reomizer (which is a squonker, the spiritual sibling of a dripper).

(I'm having a bit of an 'I've quit smoking' spending spree )

P.S. I like photography too - and you're exactly right. A DSLR has all kinds of knobs on, even in the era of touchscreens, for a reason...

LOL!!! well when they make a mod that can adjust the aperture of my dripper i will think about needing more buttons.

while i will not argue the overall ease of using more buttons, one button isnt the hassle most perceive it as being. your not entering unlimited menus your scrolling past the settings with power up and down always the first ones you get too

I was looking at that one as well or a Trident clone. Thought about the trident because many people say that you have to drill out the air holes on the IGO-L because the standard ones are too small. I would rather avoid the drilling and the Trident seems to be good from the get-go.

Cyclone and Reo, looks like money well spent I was wondering about what other bottom-fed atomizers are available for the Reo (except for the ones on their site). I find that these kinds of spending sprees are good for your health as something that keeps you vaping because you just got more stuff to fiddle with. There's always something new to try in terms of atties or mods, and when you are done with that there's DIY e-liquids - whatever keeps you off the cigs is good, as long as it does not put you into the poor house along the way But even then, at least you'll have more health than if you smoked cigs

You laugh now, but think of that mod as being the ultimate one - a hybrid with buttons to adjust the air draw, wicking amount, voltage and power That one you could definitely play like a flute

I don't perceive it as a hassle at all either, but some people just want more buttons - to each their own

Well, erm... Yeah. It's more awkward than having three buttons. Indisputably. Takes longer to learn. Takes longer to do. Has a higher error rate.

Forgive me for jumping in here please but I have to sate, it would be harder for me to memorize which button did what.... With a one button menu, it starts at the same place each time and I just watch what scrolls by. I know the order (been using mine for months now) of the options. Multiple buttons confuse the heck out of me.... There's a reason I don't play video games..

Pu = power up
Pd = power down
Po = power off
Cb = check battery
Ao = atomizer check
Lo = LED on or off (love that feature for stealth!)

Personal preferences do matter, no doubt about that.

But there are objective measures of an interface's usability, based around how quickly an average naive user can figure out how to become efficient at something. It's probably the case that if you tried using a well designed multi-button interface for a while, you'd prefer it. It's certainly the case that most people don't prefer a one button interface - they're cheap to make, so we'd see them everywhere if they did. The ones that are around (like alarm clocks to some extent - they're not exactly one button, but they have a round robin selection thing going on), I guess get away with it because it's cheaper, and we don't set them that often. Most things use an 'up / down' button pair, or a dial, or something.

I'm not suggesting that the 3 button system is optimal. Just that the 1 button one almost certainly isn't.

I'd agree that whatever I had would be what I would get used to. The 1 button is fine for me since I rarely use it. I have a couple flavors that I adjust the voltage a tenth or 2 but it's infrequent enough that I really don't notice.
