From what I hear, the SX350 chip is clever. It monitors the current draw from the battery, and if there is a fluctuation indicating a battery safety problem, it shuts down. As for svoemesto, I really don't know what's happening with them. You can't get a 3.1ES from then anymore, and it's a shame, because I don't like the KFL+ as much. They promised a mech switch and it never happened. All the different finishes to the Semovar are gone, you can only get the brushed one. It's like they are asleep.

Dunno anything useful about the mech button. Dunno anything about the kick extension. Dunno about the electronic switch option (5c in the manual), whatever that might be. Your guess is as uninformed as anyone else's. Would be happy to have any and all of 'em. If they were available, I would be buying more Semovars in a heartbeat.

Kinda sore that they released this puzzle stuff without addressing the above omissions. But bought the puzzle anyway.

The sx350 is a work in progress. They claim reverse battery protection, but it comes wired without. Not for me.

SM is completely asleep. Maybe the Russian mafia took all their money and killed their families. Russia is an odd place. Or maybe the SM dudes are wearing ski masks in eastern Ukraine. Who knows. I do know that intaste knows nothing, and SM does not answer emails.

Darn.

svoemesto is affected by the clone wars. My understanding from their leading UK vendor is that they are patenting all their new products prior to release, so they can protect them in the marketplace. Kudos to them. This has delayed the release of some of the promised items including the mech button, the KF 4.0, and other items. It may not eliminate all of their cloning problems, but it will curtail quite a bit, particularly with US and European vendors. We must support our innovators, else we will not get innovations, and we all lose. My two cents.

Magic Bill! Dude!

Thank you for your data and thoughtful comments. You have mentioned similar in the past, and I tend to forget.

The kayfun was the first atty that made me believe that I could vape and stay off cigarettes. That, my friend, is a HUGE deal. Innovation rocks. The Semovar is a work of art, even if sometimes puzzling to me. Currently, I am back to 0.2V drops, and I don't know why. But there ya' go, many things in my life puzzle me.

I support SM, and am in the process of buying one of everything currently available. Err, except for that Tetris nonsense. I ordered more than just the puzzle, so expect more pics featuring their products next to an attractive beer. Yuengling in a can is so hot! I like nice stuff, and I think I am worth it - even though Phone Dude may disagree with the worth it part. And, buying nice stuff is still cheaper than real deal smokes. I get so annoyed on the Kayfun threads with all the folks looking for a KFL+V2 clone for under $20. Heh, $20 is three packs of smokes around here, and I live not too far from Philip Morris world headquarters.

If SM needs a bit more time, then so be it. My grandpa use to say, never eat a chicken before it is cooked. You will be sorry. But, I am such an impatient ba$$-dard...

That's good news all round. Good news that they are not asleep, and good news that they are trying to curtail the cloning. An authentic Kayfun Lite Plus is extremely reasonably priced IMO, and worth buying because the design and build quality are both superb. Some of the Kayfun clones are pretty nasty AND have SM logos all over them. :glare:

I'll admit I do have some clones, and some authentic.... I think the KFL+ is a bargain at its $100 price point. The 3.1ES at $175, well I'll let others be the judge. I personally don't feel one vapes better than the other I will admit that (KFL+ vs 3.1ES).

I can and do respect SM for patenting their releases, but let's be honest, that's NOT going to stop the cloning. I don't think anything can stop the cloning. I'm not debating if cloning is good or bad here, and I fully support the inventors and innovators, I'm just being realistic, and while I've never been involved in the manufacturing process, as a consumer, I see clone's of everything! and I don't think a patent, a C&D letter, or even a high powered attorney will (or could) stop china from churning out clones of whatever they want to clone.

The only way to stop cloning is to provide the product at reasonable prices. If the HCigar clone of the 3.1 performs exactly the same as the original it would be difficult to ask consumers to pay $175 instead of $35. Vaping should not be limited to the rich. It's the same thing with medicine that is so expensive for the poor to buy. By all means innovators and entrepreneurs should be supported but the overall system should be more equitable

Tamer,
I agree with you that vaping should not be only for the rich. That said there are numbers of devices out there that are not so expensive. You can get a genuine Igo-W for about $15 USD and a MVP mod for $55 USD. If you want a tank you can get a genuine RSST for $25 USD. So for $70-80 USD you can have authentic gear that will work well for quite some time.
You don't have to drive a BMW when a Kia will get you to the same place.
Now if companies want to build clones of authentic devices they should list them as so. To produce in China a KFL+ and put the wording "Designed in Russia Made in Germany" on the bottom is total consumer fraud. It was "Designed in China" by dismantling and measuring an authentic article and then "Made in China" with quality control that may be quite questionable. Put those words on the bottom of a counterfeit KFL+ and I see no problem. I buy used equipment and shouldn't have to wonder if this was produced in a country that still uses lead paint in children's toys.
Enough rant, I do own 1 clone though. An Origen V1 that I haven't built yet since I also own an original.

Rodsky77, I hear you about mech mods. I've been using my Chi You more than the Semi. I wish svoemesto would release that mech button so the temptation to buy a new SS mech would subside.

Yeah, the've promised it for a while, but it seems that they are looking to patent the additional components before they release them to the market - I just hope that it will be compatible with the V3 of the semo that everyone has now - but then, I don't see how it would not be if the tubing is the same.

I'm guilty of wanting more power too, but I still vape regularly between 12 - 15 watts..... I have been using my nemesis and helios to cloud chase lately.... I don't think I would vape regularly like that? but it is fun.... I have to admit. And the dripper delivers excellent flavor when the afc is closed off a little bit. Not to mention I get a little nic buzz from the lung hits.... :vapor:

Pivot tIme!

What batteries are all y'all using in your semo?

I have been using panny ncr18650b - green, and have been happy enough.

But, things have changed, and I also now have a REO in the vape box.

I am looking at http://www.illumn.com/batteries-cha...ers/batteries.html?___store=default&limit=all at the moment.

They re out of stock on the sony vt5c, but good on my pannies. In pannies, they also have the high discharge BDs, but I know nothing about them.

Also thinking about 18500 and 18350 batteries since I have the tubes. But not so sure that makes sense. Anybody actually using smaller batteries?

Advice anyone? And where to buy?

Sony VTC5 for me..... I got mine from Mt Baker Vapor, because I had a $10 discount code, and I wanted to make sure they were real.

I've noticed that when I use my NC18650B pannys in the semo, they don't discharge all the way according to my nitecore i4.... but the vtc5 drains fully. (according to the charging lights)

18350 I've used the efest purple 10.5a... they work well, the red efest ones suck. The AW IMR are good too I'm told.

As for where, I think mtnelectronics

18650 - 26650

I've never bought from them, found out about these guys on a flashlight forum....those flashlight guys are as crazy (crazier?) then we vapers are about batteries.

Oh another note about the 3400mah pannys, somewhere I read they are rated at that mah down to 2.5v or something, so since our cutoff is 3.4v we will not be getting 3400mah out of them.... I dont know if thats true, but I read it on the internet, so it must be. :D

Last, vapordna has the vtc5's 3x $30, and somewhere there is a $10 off coupon for orders over $35, of course I can't find it now that I mentioned it :(

Pivot again!

Everybody knows that the President was interviewed by that comedian with an unpronounceable Greek name on some show called "between two ferns".

Here, my REO interviews my Semo about battery life in sticker mode in an upcoming episode of the new hit show "between two puzzles".

They seemed to communicate In smoke signals, so I did not catch everything that was said.
