I mean it fired..cranked up to 50 and all that, but it just felt sooooo cheap. I guess for the price it is going to be cheap. However, with all the hype it was just kinda "bleh" to me. I thought I read it was supposed to be metal but the thing felt awful plasticy to me. A buddy of mine got them in his shop, and he was showing all the new high wattage boxes that are coming. With what is on the horizon I decided to wait on the pioneer. Sigeli has a 100 and 50 watt box coming and hcigar has some cool looking stuff.
But does it feel cheaper than other similar box mods? Sigelei is using the same chip as the pioneer. But it's the tilting thing that ...... me off. I was hoping to find a good tubular one without the tilting thing but so far nothing seems to be on the horizon. And the eye and the WAE 2 are too expensive for what they're offering and for what I want to pay right now. hcigar has a good 30 watt box but it doesn't seem special or different from the other Hana clones.

Honestly I don't expect china to offer the same quality and finish offered by the Semovar or the provari and other mods in this category.

That's just it..for the price you pay for some of these authentics you would think the quality would be better. I drove all the way to nashville to buy a Hana and turned right back around once I saw all of the little imperfections and flaws on an authentic mod.
I got my nephew a china dna30 clone tube from tobecco. got it on here in the classified in a trade, the thing was heavy, I never saw it fire under 4.0v regardless of wattage setting or atty on top resistance, the responsiveness of the chip menu (cloned dna30) was slow compared my authentic dna20/dna30.....
did it fire, yes it did.
did it read the ohms, yes it did, and was only about .1 off compared to my genuine. (always read higher on clone)
did it burn the coil/cotton in my kayfun? yes it did at 30w.
did it fire at 30w? I think it did, I didnt meter it or anything but it sure "felt" like 30w or close to it.
was it worth $60? honestly, probably not.... not for me. I think better quality can be hand for just a little bit more (maybe not dna30, but maybe? if you catch a deal)
was it worth the trade? yeah to me it was, because it was stuff I wasn't using anymore. and yes my nephew loved it to death. He's pretty rough and his stuff, so for a younger guy - its ok..... I think I could have vaped with it and gotten decent results, but it wasn't acquired for me, it was all for him.... and now I'm the cool uncle who got him a dna30 tube mod for his b-day.

I think the ipv with sx chip for $80 is probably a better deal, and vaportek is pre ordering a zna clone with sx chip for around $100..... so..... I think a little more than $60 gets you into a better mod.

My guess is they will be using the sx330v2 chip like is in the ipv# since its kind of dna30 layout. But I think the zna clone is going to be about $100....... funny this about the zna is, a lot of people who have them seem to dislike/regret the purchase. I've seen sooo many cosmetic construction flaws... seems not lining up, gaps, stuff like that. Attys not sitting flush is pretty well documented, not sure if that was ever officially resolved with a redesigned cap? I saw lots of home made solution which you shouldn't have to do to a $300 device.
I may end up picking up a zna clone in the future.
Why pick up a DNA 30 clone when you can aim higher for 50 watts or higher?

I agree, but... the evov dna30 board is kind of the 600 lb gorilla in vw. Its tested, reliable, and loved by vapers and modders the world over. I've never used an 50w sx board mod, so I dont know if they are awesome or junk.... based on what I have read and seen on youtube, I think they are absolutely a new contender. And something tells me the change in form factor in the sx330v2 (and others?) adding button adjustments, getting away from gravity tilt or at least adding another option will probably help them gain acceptance.
I think most people who want 50w+ are building subohm coils and using mechs, heck I've got a 0.14ohm dual parallel coil setup in my helios on top of my nemesis right now, at 4.2v according to ohms law calculator its about 114w pulling around 23amps. No regulation required, doing it with clones would cost somebody what? $40 maybe...... plume, your blowing big clouds.
I dunno... the vw market is changing pretty fast, but somewhere in there the higher limit still doesnt mean much? maybe I'm wrong.

I had 2 Semovars (both sold or traded) and never had a problem with mine and it was bought 2nd user, sure a little cleaning but with regular maintenance, ultrasonic bath mine was .1-.2V Voltage drop most of the time.
A little bit of modding (mine was untouched) could sort out any issues copper + plate, copper battery screws would sort it for good.

Just droping by to say hi to all the cool kids. Ive been kinda on hold for a while and have been waiting to see how far they went with the New Provari....hope its released soon.
I tried someones vaporshark the other day and it sure worked well and was so tiny....like a box of tic-tacs. The guy said he had been vaping on it for two days without a charge............I'd like to have one of those.

My oldest son really likes box mods, he's got a opus d dna20 (1500mah), an opus d dna30 (1500mah) and an asgard dna30 (2400mah). The opus is slightly larger than the vaporshark, and the asgard is about the size of a pack of cigarettes. they are all wonderful devices.
why do I mention them? I've tried using one of the opus (1500mah) and it was dead in about 5 hours or less. (I seem to remember <4 hours but...) unless its 5000mah or more, I have to have an easily replaceable battery..... simple as that.
Oh and I'll note this for people looking as a new mod, the asgard has one of those little silver dome switches for firing, like the hana, and some of the ch'dna30s.... those little buttons are so uncomfortable to press as fire buttons, you dont think it but they are. gets annoying fast.
Of all the devices I own and have personally used... the Semovar has the hands down nicest and easy to fire button not to mention is comfortable to your finger. (2nd place goes to the opus d)

Have you tried the Pipeline Pro? I think that one has a great firebutton. I like that button a lot. It's small, yes, but you don't need much force to press it.
I've made up my mind. I'm getting The Eye when it gets back in stock. Expensive? Yes. Too expensive? Not to play at the top of the pack, it's not. I have Provaris and Semovar's, where am I supposed to go in regulation tube APV's? Maybe Provari will stun us with something like the Eye, great, I'll get a couple of those too! I haven't spent money on vaping gear in a while. I found once I got to the authentic top of the line gear, why would I need to spend more money? I already have backups to backups, and the best gear (for me) already. Just my two cents. While we are inundated with mech mods this last year, I still believe the future is in regulated devices. .5 ohms and 30 watts is plenty for what I need, and I prefer tube configurations, so The Eye is it for me. Maybe The Eye in 26650 would be ideal, we shall see. My two cents!
