Small like a traditional cig, but powerful like the larger models?

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Dicodes Telegonos. If you want a high quality device with a reasonable amount of power (16 watts max) the Telegonos is the one to get. It's 17mm wide and you can get it in two lengths to accommodate either a 14500 or 14650 battery. The only problem is you'll have to order it overseas. Here for example.

I saw the Ego One recommeded but I'm surprised nobody recommended the Ego One Mini. It's about the same height, but noticeably slimmer. Eciggity has them for $39.99, but use the coupon code "10percentoff" and it comes out to $35.99 plus your chosen method of shipping. Pick up some 1.0 ohm Ego One CL or CLR coils, too at $13.99 for a pack of five of either... they cary both. The CLR heads are rebuildable and wick slightly better, but the CL heads are vertical and have a little better air flow... and the whole use and toss simplicity thing. If you have no plans to rebuild coils, get the disposable CL heads and you'll probably have a better experience. Order two packs (10 coils total) and they offer free first class shipping over $50. All of that, after discount totals $61.17 and will give you enough coils to last about two to three months. Or just order one pack of coils with the kit and add some random cheap item like their $5 USB wall charger or $3 organic cotton pack (especially if you decide to user the CLR coils and rewick them) to push the cost over $50 and get the free shipping. Just need some juice from somewhere... I recommend a local store so you can sample juices and find something you like.

With the CLR coils and the cotton, it comes out to $51.27 and you'll have tons of cotton to rewick those coils. Just pull out the old wicks, dry burn, and rinse JUST THE COIL with water while hot. Let it dry, then it's good for a rewick. You can probably rewick the coils half a dozen or so times like this before you need to put new wire in them. You can later try your hand at wrapping the coils or just buy them prewrapped, cheap.

Or just get the kit with the CL heads and add the USB charger to get the total over $50... comes out to $53.08 or something like it. Still need juice. Keep in mind, you'll be replacing the coils about once every week to ten days, so this supply is only good for a month and a half or so.

The Mig Cigs or other cig-sized clearomizer (no filling material) setups aren't terrible. However even an EVOD is a big upgrade. It's larger (but can be short) but be assured the results are noticable, even if mild compared to anything newer. It is more servicable as well (I prefer a reducable-voltage battery with them to avoid burning). Get something larger and suddenly it will seem small :)

The iSticks recommended are small for what they do, but still a whole step up in size at least. The Ego One (not to be confused with regular eGo's) is the latest mini-monster.

Something I always ask newbies in your position:
You're not smoking, so why does it need to look like a cigarette?

If you drove a car all your life, but wanted to reduce your carbon footprint by moving to mass transit for the benefit of the environment, would you be doing any good by insisting the bus/train/trolley be the size of a compact car? Not many paople fit in a compact car.

With that said, smaller batteries are not going to offer the battery capacity or output that a larger model will offer.

Wow... just gotta give a shoutout for this comparision. It hits the nail as we say it around here...

Because newbs feel the need to use something that they think will be socially acceptable. I say, if you want to vape , make sure it looks nothing like a cigarette. Let it be known you're vaping.

iStick Mini 20w with a GS Air MS and the new cotton 1.2 ohm coils. Under 100mm tall and pretty powerful.

I'll second this type of setup.

I find myself using my mini's regularly and they're perfect for going out and about. Here's one of mine with a GS16S topper.

Nope... generally it's a mental, comfort thing. Whatever they need to transition and quit the stinkies is fine... everyone vapes differently.

Yep, check out my review of the new iStick Mini 20 watt and of the GS Air MS here:

Eleaf Mini iStick 20 watt | E-Cigarette Forum

GS Air MS... very nice starter tank or stealth vape | E-Cigarette Forum

You can get the whole kit (Totally Wicked and TECC branded) from Totally Wicked for under $35, shipped if you use the discount code "FORUM1" or "FORUM3" here (and you get a free 10ml bottle of juice, to boot... try the RY4 and keep the nic at 12 mg or so):

Curve Mini 20W Kit with 1 bottle of US made Patriot Range e-liquid

Get the cotton 1.2 ohm coils here. Pick up two packs of five to make shipping worth it and it's about $22 for a total of about $57 at this point... that's with ten coils that will last about five or six months total, though!:

Eleaf GS Air Coils Organic Cotton - Eleaf Coils - Eleaf - Clearomizers Tanks

Yes... get the cotton coils... they provide a HUGE difference in performance and flavor. Yank that stock 1.5 ohm coil out of the tank and don't use it at all... just put it back in the box the kit came in. Just keep it as an emergency back up in case you use all of the cotton ones and are waiting for a shipment of replacements. The difference is that drastic. Don't get them from Totally Wicked, though. They charge an arm and a leg for a a pack of TWO coils of any kind and don't currently carry the organic cotton GS Air coils.

Again, go to a local brick and mortar vape shop and sample their juices until you find something you like. 12-18 mg ought to do you. If you find something you can order online, same some scratch in the future and do that.

When I first started vaping I began with an e-roll, it's a cig a like and got me through the first year of my vaping experience.

Same. Eroll got me through initially quitting smoking. Eventually I got less patient with the small tanks (though wish I'd found the "tank pack" sooner!)

Now a-days I use the Ego One posted above. I have the Mini and the Mega. Both are small honestly. And it's a great vape. The tanks can be a little leaky at times, but nothing tragic.
