Walked out of my local liquor store this morning, as soon as I hit the open door I was hit with the smell of cigarette smoke.
I look to my right and its a pretty young lady who works there, sitting at a table having a smoke.
2 months ago I would have never noticed the smell as I was still smoking myself, now it really stinks.
I wanted to go try to save her with vaping advice but the wife was waiting for me in the truck not 10 feet away!
I will be back there and I will introduce her to vaping.
Funny part is there is a nice new vape shop not 250 yards from her store.
I'm an old fart but I am going to get her right if I can. Maybe one more life prolonged.

The same thing happened to me today while buying tires. An older gentleman walked in carrying a pack of "cheap" smokes, Cheyennes I believe. He was about 10 feet away and I could smell it. It really took me by surprise, knowing that just 9 days ago that was me. I was headed to the checkout and actually circled around to try to not get to close. I never really believed it was that strong.

Felt bad for the guy, I could tell he wasn't in the best of health.

Heh... amazing how quickly our sense of smell comes back after a few short weeks off the smokes, isn't it?!

Good for you... be an advocate!
I wouldn't exactly go and "Try to save her" but I would at least try to get her interested in it... ;)

I was at a friend's house and had a similar thing happen. She offered me a real cigarette and I turned her down because it smelled so bad! I offered to let her try my ecig, but she declined. She said her brother is using one to quit, so maybe he'll get her to try one!
Say something to her next time - she may enjoy it.

Right you are, not save her but get her interested--bad choice of words on my part.

My fiance still smokes and the smell is horrible. Ill end up sitting on the other couch to avoid the lingering smoke and try to clear it out with my sweet vape smell. Its like im becoming a human air freshener. As for the young lady, why not get a $5 disposable and give it to her. Might seems weird but women like gifts... and chocolate.

Damn its almost V-day.

So I've noticed a huge issue with people new to the E-cigs is the scratchy feeling you get with the hit and how much it makes you cough when you first start using them. For me that lasted about a week and I'm pretty use to it with 60/40 - 50/50 PG/VG

As for my sense of smell I've been cutting back the past week a lot and being now a bit over 24 hours with out a real one after 4 year of having snuff in constantly and smoking about a pack a day so hoping I start noticing the changes would be nice to be able to actually see the changes. Most looking forward to taste coming back!

I can't think of anything that smells worse than old cigarette butts in a nasty ashtray.

Like others, I can't stand the smell of smoke either, after 40 years smoking myself.

I've helped several people stop smoking,

I'll keep helping people stop smoking if it takes every dime I have.

I agree. I have been smoking for at least 41 years, the last 15 or so being about 2 packs a day.
i wouldn't wish the wheezing on anybody, not to mention all the rest of the consequences.

I hear you, slinco....only thing I can say is I wish someone invented e-juice and atomizers decades ago.

If I had my little pass thru battery with me I would have given it to her no problem. I might just buy a couple to carry around with me for just such an occasion.

Me too,I may have been able to add years to my life, along with a million others.

Me too, my aunt died of emphysema. I got my partner a cig kit for his birthday, and shared my spare passthru with a friend I ran into at the theatre last weekend. And the local b&m has a donation program for folks who are upgrading their hardware... they'll pass along your old hardware to folks who can't afford it and donate some juice to get them started. They're really good-hearted folks.

Isn't it great what we've discovered? I've converted a few people short-term to vaping, but they've all mostly gone back to smoking with good set-ups even, but they still vape a little bit. Only one has converted to vaping. The key is being ready and wanting to quit psychologically. Not a "Gee, it would be nice not to be a smoker, but I sure love my addiction, maybe I'll try it!" stage of readiness, but a "I'm so sick of myself and my coughing and my stink that I need to quit" stage. My husband has completely converted one person, and half-converted one as well. We are evangelists for vaping over here. :)

Edited to add that we have given away all our EVOD and Spinner batteries save for two (one for each of us). I almost bought more to keep giving away, but then remembered how many did not actually convert fully and decided not to.

Love the pay it forward program. I will suggest that to my local B&M's
Awesome idea.
