Oh, and the batterys are genuine sony vtc.. i bought a brand new pair yesterday and abother pair wich i bought 26/12 same thing with both sets.. only been used in my alien..

I do get a .02 difference.. but is that enough to cause coild burning and battery drain ? How many puffs do you ger from a fully charged pair ?
Are you in wattage mode or tc? In wattage mode you still should get a consistant vape even if the ohms is slightly out. As for battery i get about 400 puffs using lg hg2 3000mah running at 70w on the v8 t8 coil, get even less when using my rta with dual coil fused stapled claptons, i was hoping more from battery life tbh
Im vapin in wattage mode currently did 140 puffs on 50w and battery is 40% using 3120 mah brand new sony vtc6 i had the impression that the battery life on the previous alien i had lasted for atleast 2 days :/

The fault twizzy vapes was talking about was his coils burning after a few draws, as if his mod is fluctuating the power, the battery life was a more general discussion. Im well aware of the power requirements, as usually build my own coils, but battery life on the alien does seem slighty worse when running the same tank and wattage as i do on other mods, maybe the screen uses more.
Thinking about it, what screen time out and brightness settings are you using @TwizzyVapes maybe thats why your getting poor battery performance?
Well, im on 100% brightness.. ill try turning it down abit. I now mounted another t6.. primed it. Filled it, waited 20min, like i always do. Then ramped up the wattage every 5 hits 5 watts and for now the flavor is holding pretty well. It could be infact that the alien has ....ty battery life.. i also have a rx200s with a tfv8 cloud beast with v8 coils which i vape at 130w i vaped the same amount more or less on that tank today and still have 80% battery while the alien is at 10%. I was just under the impression that the 2 other alien mods i had b4 this one would hold out for a 1,5 to 2 days with a v8 baby @ 70w instead of 1 day with a q2 baby at 55-60w.
I have brightness at min, can still see fine, first day i had the mod the new batteries seemed to last ages and it seems to be slowly going down after 5 full charges im struggling to get a full day, which is strange as the batteries should be at full capacity now, or maybe im just vaping too much! I might start using stealth mode and see if any better, but its anoying that when in stealth you cant quickly turn screen on to check battery.
Well thats it, after several emails to smok I've heard nothing....so bye bye smok, am returning my alien as faulty, just ordered a LOST VAPE THERION DNA166 coming on Saturday, made in the uk so support will be much better hopefully

Good luck with help from smoktech, it's a shame as really nice device, but support sucks, check out there fb page and there are lots of unhappy customers.
Hello from good old Germany. I have the same issues, Firmware b1.0.2. I think the Box is a fake. At the moment there is no way to verificate the scratch code on the smoktech site befor january 15. But there is a video on youtube about a fake box. Search for "I Got A Fake Smok Alien Kit!"
Just downloaded firmware upgrade "ALIEN V1.2.2" and tried upgrading with NuMicro ISP Programming Tool v1.44 using the supplied SMOK factory USB cable with no success. Went through all the correct steps....still no success.
By chance, I tried using my eLeaf USB cable which I new worked with data transfer and lo & behold IT WORKED and upgraded successfully! PASSED!
Note that the “Config” data will show 0001F000 (Not 00013000 as specified in the upgrade instructions)....don't worry about it and just continue with the upgrade - Press START, will work. You will get a PASS.

I am also having the same trouble.
I guess I made the update in a wrong way, I didn't hold the fire button. When I finished updating, device freezed as it writes 'updatting'. Yes it was "updatting", I did not misspelled
.It freezed like 15 20 mins. Than died totally
It was my second day with this device.
I recommend everybody for not to update those devices.
Now when I plug it to pc, a sound comes up like I disconnected a device.
When I try to connect with update tool, It says "No Such Usb Device".
Damn, I wish we all can repair by ourselves. Cuz If I send it to headquarters to get it repaired, I won't be able to get it back because these devices are not allowed in my country...
