ok, i get why there is no code from ft. kinda the same thing with my cloupor mini. i was kinda freaked because i thought it might effect my ability to upgrade the firmware if and when. so far i'm loving this box. i'm using vair-t ni coils in my triton and it hits like a champ!

I don't think it will affect you in any way. In the highly unlikely event that it does, I'm sure people here will be more than happy to provide you with the software and the firmware. ;)

I have not tried to plug mine in, but I wouldn't be surprised if Windows did nothing. The mod isn't smart enough to 'talk' to the computer. Some sort of software will be needed, to update the firmware(when/if they are released). The software will then check the ports, looking for the chip on the other end and then it will sort of "force feed" the mod, without actually asking it anything. It will simply push the files to the chip.
I was just surprised that the computer didn't react in any way as it recognises mice, printers, MIDI keyboards and other "non-smart" peripherals instantly.

Well, technically those are smart, because they're input/output devices, supporting two way communication. I guess the chips on the mods are so simple that they don't 'talk' at all, they just 'listen'.

i've run thru a couple of battery changes with my mini. i'm using lg hg2 cells i purchased from rtd vapor. the thing is i'm only getting ~800 seconds of use from these batteries. bigego stated he was getting 1600 seconds using a similar battery - 30q
i've been using tc @ 450F with a .25 ohm ni coil from vair-t in my triton. this has me wondering if my batteries are genuine since i'm only getting half the usage big ego does.

Cheech,

I don't' know about your battery life but are you sure you Ni coil is 0.25 ohms? That sound like a lot of turns for a nickel coil.

well that's what it says on the box. they are pre made coils for the triton from vair-t. bought them from wov. the mini says they are .26

Well the box never lies. ;) But you know those Chinese, the women building them have time little hand and are probably using 32 Ga wire.

I have tried 32 Ga Ni but found it was like trying to build coils with sewing thread. :(

I can build 0.26 coils with my 24 Ga. Ti but If I tried that with Nickel it would take about 16 wraps and wouldn't fit in my Atty.

i'm not a coil builder (yet). but when the coil i'm using is used up i will take it apart and get a look at the build. i have an old micrometer and will measure the thickness of the wire and count the wraps.
i still am concerned about my batteries being bogus tho....i bought another pair of hg2's from a different vendor and i'll be able to compare them in the coming days.

to me the temp control using the ti setting works just fine. i bought a kanger stm and some .4 mm ti wire and i'm more than pleased with my results. awesome taste and a steady vape on my very first coil.
sorted out my battery worries too. my cells are doing great. i'm getting 1037 seconds (over 24 hrs. for me) with a .3 ohm ti coil using my hg2's. i'm happy i bought this box even if the firmware never updates.

Saw this on the Kooper FB page. The good news is that the firmware can (hopefully soon) be upgraded to offer SS support. The bad news is that they seem to indicate that it must be done by a dealer since "special tools" are needed.

That seriously sucks. Stupid move on their part. I don't need ss compatibility, but still.

I have been getting closer to 1100 to 1200 seconds nowadays with a typical .3Ω Ti build. The 1600 was probably an anomaly.

My biggest dislike is the shutting off feature. After sitting a few minutes it goes to sleep and when using it again you have to press the fire key one time to wake it up before you vape. For me this is a nuisance in having to remember this when using this mod when I use several other mods that don't have this behavior. A feature I do like is being able to set the display on time. I wish all mods had that option as most of the time they go out too quickly for me.

You can press and hold the button and it'll fire after the start up cycle. The delay is annoying though.

New update procedure with a cheaper programming tool on the Koopor community site.
Cost me about £5 for the bits altho some soldering is required to make the lead.
So both mine are all flashed up and running SS 317l quite happily now.
Full instructions on the Koopor community site.

If soldering the micro usb lead is not for you then it may be worthwhile requesting a pre made lead and programmer bundle from somewhere like Fasttech. If they think there's enough demand I'm sure they've got the connections to have them made up.
