I drill big holes in everything. That's why I have a hard time spending more than $20-30 on RBA's. I would only spend big money on adjustable airflow devices. Everything else has to be cheap/clone because its destined for the drill press immediately after purchase. Lol

So much different opinions, gotta love communities! I guess I will be happy if the stock air flow isn't tighter than the ProTank 2 but I would enjoy a Kayfun Lite Plus air flow (nearly wide open). What to do!

Yeah, but could you get used to the whistling? Seems like I have read lately there are a bunch out there that whistle!!!

Yeah, mine whistles a little bit. Well, I enjoy it anyways. Do you have a RSST, to what air flow do you compare the stock air flow? Thanks.

@bender817
I kind of would feel bad if I had to heavily modify a device so that it works like it should work out of the factory...

So, if this has air flow problems I guess I just look around for another RBA. The Kraken maybe.

You read my mind. That's actually next on my list, followed by a trident. Its just that I love a draw that's about twice as open as a normal person would like. Its a personal preference. I just don't like pg throat hit and the open draw seems to mix enough air to mellow it out.

Yeah, I have an RSST. I opened my air hole to 1/16" shortly after getting it. It wasn't that there wasn't enough air flow, I opened it because I was going to be running in or around .8-1.0Ω coils and thought I should have more air flow to cool the vapor down some. It's been so long now since I got it, but I seem to remember the draw on the original air hole was probably comparable to a Kanger MT3. Like I said, the air hole SmokTech drills them to is ok and vapeable as is, but I really like it now. I don't think I would ever open it up any more than what I have already. I also do lung hits as well and I like how mine vapes very much... I think you would enjoy the RSST if you got one...

I have read all the Kayfun threads and what I got from them is a lot of people seem to have flooding, whistling, and threading problems as of late. Not to mention a lot of people are finding out the clones are not full SS atty's now. Especially the FT versions. There are more cases of plated brass decks and blocks and the insulator failure rate seems to be up more today than say 2-3 months ago, I don't like the fact you have to take the atty of of your device to fill, (I know some open the top cap to do it), but this was a major factor other than the height of the device. I use my RSST in hybrid mode on my SmokTech Natural and I would have to remove the hybrid connector to fill the device and that would be a PITA... If I was to get a Kayfun type of atty, it would probably be the Taifun GT. I know it is a taller atty, but they do sell a mini and medium kit for them to make them shorter. I like the looks of the TGT more than the regular Kayfuns. I may also at some time purchase a genuine Kraken. From what I have read, the clone isn't on par with the original and the original is an excellent vape. I am awaiting a couple clones at the moment. Was very skeptical ordering them. I ordered an Origin and an Aqua, mostly out of curiosity. I like the way the two compliment themselves and they both have received good reviews so far. If they are to my liking then I will seek to purchase the originals. Sorry for the length of the response, but I hope it was somewhat helpful...

Yeah, it is helpful. My major points that a RBA has to provide is no leaking, good air flow, easy access. The Kraken doesn't have a screw to close the fill hole so I don't know about leaking (have a thread about that too). Another one I am considering is The Rocket (Kayfun clone), as I like my genuine Kayfun Lite Plus. It is made of chrome-plated copper though, not sure about the toxicity of it, maybe you know that, too? The Taifun GT looks like a great device!
