I have a few questions about the smoktech 1.7ohm 510 cartomizers (Ressurectors, Rejuvinators etc.) Ive ordered a number of them from various suppliers, all which came in a white cardboard box with stickers saying 510 1.7 +or- 0.2ohms. All of the cartomizers came individually wrapped in see-thru green packages. I then ordered a bunch of them from a different supplier, and they came in the exact same box, with the exact same stickers, but these were individually wrapped in clear plastic as opposed to the see-thru green plastic that all of the others were. The reason I bring this up, is because I seem to be having some issues with a number of the cartomizers in the clear plastic packaging, that I got from one supplier, whereas I have had no problems with the same supposed product from all of the other suppliers, when they were individually wrapped in the green plastic. I am curious to know if any of you have received either or both kinds, and if any of you have had any problems with either version. Im also curious if any of you know if these are in fact, the same smoktech 1.7ohm cartomizers (in both kinds of wrapping) or perhaps one version is a cheap knockoff?
Here is my problem: To make it easier, Ill refer to the good smoktech 1.7s as green wrapped, and the questionable smoktech 1.7s as clear wrapped. I have used a few dozen of the green wrapped, all have worked perfectly. I use them with mainly pg juice or 70/30 pg/vg juice. I use them mainly on a kgo, riva, and other 3.7-4.2 ego clones, as well as a Variable Voltage box mod from madvapes (at 4.5-5v tops). They all taste great, last forver, produce tons of vapor. Heres where it gets weird.
I tried the clear wrapped on the same equipment as I mentioned above, using the same juices. The first one I used was good for 2 or 3 puffs, then immediately gave off a nasty burnt/dry filler taste. Another interesting thing, which I will try my best to explain properly, is that after a few seconds of igniting the cartomizer, the sound (or pitch/whistle) of the cartomizer would change. As well, when taking my finger off of the manual button, the cartomizer would stay ignited for an extra ½ second or so. I dismissed this as being a dud or a faulty cartomizer (it happens). So I tried a second clear wrapped. This one tasted fine, lasted a week, no problems. But, since then, Ive tried several more clear wrapped, and theyre all having the same exact problem as that horrible first one I tried.
I havent tried to dissect any of them to see whats going on inside, but it seems strange to me that all of these clear wrapped ones (with the exception of one) have this happening to them, whereas none of the green wrapped ones did. Does what I explain sound like its a result of poor craftsmanship? Or perhaps this sounds like a symptom of the ohms being even lower on the clear wrapped? (I tested a number of the clear wrapped and green wrapped, and all came out to around 1.8 ohm). Is this what happens to a carto that burns out right away if too much power is being supplied to it? Ive used tons of different cartos, and have run into different problems in the past, but never one like this, or so specific. Could anyone possibly shed some light? Thanks in advance and sorry for the essay!!
