Smok TFV4 Sub Ohm Tank

I had a flight to catch, so with a full tank loaded I thought I'd best empty the bugger to avoid leakage. I fogged out my room chain vaping this sucker dry. Didn't take long but ...... what a champ! Quad coil @ 90w and not a single dry hit even when I was sucking with no juice in sight.
I love this tank but not so much the juice bill.....
Is there anything comparable? In the light of possible new UK legislation I'm gunna stock up.

For same reason here in the US, I'm looking at the upcoming ceramic coils from Vapeston and Freemax. They can supposedly go into the mid-100s watts, and---- last 2-3 months each.

I don't know if they will fit a Herakles or Atlantis, but if they will fit the Maganus/Starre Pro, I suspect they will fit other tanks that use the general Atlantis type design. If not, I guess their new Ceramikus or Scylla tank will do. I see release date is around Dec 28.

I like cotton myself, so it might go into the drawer until needed.

I also grabbed a few extra batteries, a charger, trying some cheaper juice in bigger quantities, and maybe grab an extra mod, just in case something happens to my IPV Li 3, either mechanical or if I drop the thing, etc.

As for TFV4, if I know someone I trust to build a few coils for the deck, I don't think it would be too hard to rewick the cotton, but not experienced enough to advise on that.

Or, you could get an Aromamizer or Goliath, which have prebuilt OCC coil options as well as RTA. They look like coils that need rewick more than replace.

Not sure a TFV4 competitor (Mutank, Triforce, Arctic V8) would be any lighter on the juice...... they all have huge coils, and RBA options I believe. However, if supplies were to get scarce, I've never had issues finding coils for my original Arctic. Horizon Tech is large company with many tanks in peoples hands. Mutation was always a player for RDA and RTA, and is new to tanks with stock coils.

I think you need to look into DIY and make your own juice. It's a lot cheaper and you can tweak it to your liking. Really not hard at all to do.

Just today, started to see 0.3 ohm Freemax ceramic coils online in the US, 1 on Ebay and 1 from Sweet Vapes in Wisconsin. They are rated to 160w, claim to last 3 to 5 times longer than cotton, and have same dimensions as older Freemax Starre and Vapeston Maganus coils, which have been reported to work in the Herakles tank. Not sure on the Atlantis V2. I am going to order and try them in the Atlantis V2 and Herakles. If I did not have either of those, I'd probably pick up a V2

Hey guys I got a question for all you tfv4 users. Apparently the mini kit comes with Claptons for the RBA deck. Any idea on what kind of wire & gauges those premade Claptons are?

I have the Tfv4, using the single RBA(also have the dual rba but not gonna use it for now till i fix my issue) with .6 ohm kanthal build could go lower but that's not the issue. I totally getting harsh vapes, so maybe i thought it's the prebuilt coil, recoiled and still gotten the same result, and so i thought again maybe it's the juice (3mg 70pg) and cotton swap both same result but when i transfer the juice to the subtank mini, it was completely smooth. i ran out of ideas trying to figure out what is wrong with it. any help/tips is greatly appreciated.

Finally ordered a TFV4 in black with the full kit. Also picked up a 5-pack of the TF-N2 TC coils. It's pretty crazy they have like 15 different coils for these tank systems.

They have so many coils, and RBA heads, they actually offer a kit at $60 to try them all! I was window shopping today, and I saw that they now have a patented Fused Clapton head reading at .16 Ohms!!! So many options, but I like it!

See... now I had the same issue with my RBA head for the Subtank, and the TFv4 is smooth smooth smooth! I found it can usually be a couple things... juice is getting into your mouth due to a misaligned wick, or there is a big hot-spot in the coil causing juice to burn quicker, and hotter.

Also, did you pulse the coil before you assembled the tank? I know most Kanthal has residue that smokes and tastes foul if not pulsed before wicking.

I noticed on a few reviews for the new Coral tank that those coils will fit the TFV4. They are large dual coils with 32 air holes, and the casing is almost equal to the size of a TFV4 quad coil. For what it's worth, the reviews say the flavor at high wattage is better on the Coral coils, they last longer, use of e-liquid is lower, and the clouds are just as good.

I wasn't planning to buy a TFV4, but someone I knew and saw today had one he barely used (wasn't for him), a full size 5.0 stainless with a tri coil and a quad coil, so I gave him a $20, and now I own the tank. I found a pack of 5 Coral coils online for $9.95. Who knows how long they will be available, but it looks like an answer for some of the concerns with the TFV4 (high juice consumption, lack of flavor at high wattage, and varying coil longevity).

Seen and tried the coral at the local B&M was not impressed didn't come with extra glass nor o-rings and no RBA. Vape was hot. It is a good looking tank tho.

Looks like the SMOK Tech contenders wind up having more problems than the TFV4..... the new Mutank got great reviews, then came reports of all sorts of issues with the coils either working themselves loose or burning out in a few days. The Triforce is just too expensive- I would chance it but not for $40-45. Then there's the Arctic V8, which people may not want to try following the Arctic Turbo that wasn't so great. That tank can already be found cheap, but the coils are anything but---- it's like buying an inkjet, but then all the ink. I ordered a 5-pack of Coral coils for $9.95 + $2 shipping, figured for that price, why not. Maybe the TFV4 has better airflow to the coil.

Just buy and enjoy a TFV4. just got a twisted messes RDA with coils rolled by the shopmeister and this ....ing tank still blows it away!

I completely gave up on the RBA for this tank. Too much leaking...

So I put my quad coil in there, and it's still leaking. Coming out the bottom airflow holes. The gasket seems to be properly seated. Why the heck does this thing leak so bad?

It's there, but that doesn't mean it isn't pinched. I hadn't really thought about that one. Maybe I'll just replace it and see. I swear, I've had this thing leak out of every hole. I've probably lost more juice then I vaped.
