I have this over since about two weeks and would be curious to know if other find this too much of a beast to handle. I have the triple coiled atomizers and vape an 80/20 PV/VG mix and can never vape over 40 watt without doubling up in a coughing fit after trying it. In fact I even tried it on someone that used to smoke analog roillies and he couldn't handle it either. I have been vaping since 2010 and could open a museum dedicated to the history of vaping, this Smok TF4 requires I believe a different form of vaping and not direct Lung pulls like I am used to taking. Has anyone got any tips to share, Is there something I need to know when it comes to my vaping style, normally I inhale directly to my lungs, and with this animal it is like being constricted by a Boa Constrictor (from articles Ive read :)

Cool, 5 years of vaping.......

Okay, is that 80VG or PG?
What nic level are you at?
I am currently at 0 nic and found one bottle with 6 mg nic level but could not vape it at all as it gave out a throat hit compared to none of the same flavor in 0 nic.

I can take 6-7 seconds lung hits easy with the triple coils at 100 watts, but I use 100vg. You will find the pg to be your problem as that is the ingredient what gives you the throat hit. Or too much nicotine. Try a higher VG juice mate

 Needs more miles, Time, experience.

Everyone is different and therefore effected differently by different things.
Rarely will pg in 50/50 or less cause any noticeable TH., just a bit more off a light irritant. Nick...........almost guarantied if not reduced will slam you with a TFV4. Especially if you pump the power and attempt a long draw.

A Six second draw is not necessarily needed at 130w, but proper Mix and Air flow may be.

OMG - No wonder, 24mg of nic in a TFV4, it's a wonder your not in bed with severe nic overdose, no wonder your having problems.

3mg of nic is all you need for this tank and a higher VG juice would work much better, then you will find you can ramp up the wattage more.

You can only do direct lung with this tank too, no way you can do any other style.

Personally, you should stop using that juice right away in that tank.

I agree, this higher PG myth is becoming annoying, the only reason I vape higher VG in these sub tanks is I find, high PG makes the coil spit and pop, more juice in the mouth and just doesn't perform as well as higher VG, plus I like more vapor and it gives me a sweeter base for my DIY juices.
Nic, yes, high mg of that in a TFV4 is asking for all sorts of trouble.

24mg Nic on a TFV4? that would be like putting 100mg in a ego or worse....

The highest I'd go is about 6mg max 70vg/30pg Even then it'd still be pretty strong nic for that tank.
I'd recommend 4mg 80vg/20pg

You have to remember the more vapor you get the more nic you're gonna get and that tank produces a buckets of vapor.

In my, albeit relatively limited, experience the difference in TH between 100% VG and 30/70 is actually quite noticble.

WOW!
That low VG with very high nic is normally not suitable for sub ohm vaping.
Remember, most subohm tanks are designed for high VG so if using high PG, ttrouble is spelled. Throat hit is on the much higher level with this combination of low VG and high nic.
Remember, with a lung hit, you get a lot, I mean A LOT more vapor than if you do a MTL hit.
I remember last year, at about the same time, I got a 18mg ejuice but it was way too strong and I coughed. That was with a MTL and I can not imagine myself doing it with a lung hit.
