Well as expected the TFV8 rba is no different than any other rta in that it has to be wicked heavy enough in the juice channels to stave off flooding when filling but light enough to keep from dryhitting. I got it to run at 185w with consistent juice delivery and good flavor but it leaked when filling. I thickened up the wick tails some and it's humming along now in the 125-150w range without leaking. It still leaks if laid on it's side but I don't mind that. Gonna say that using the rba deck I should be able to get it running consistently at somewhere around 100w without leaking in any position.
As with any rba the max power is dependent on juice channel size and airflow. The juice channels on this rba are very long horizontal slots but it's not easy to position the wicktails in them. It may be too fussy for me to deal with, we'll see.

Anyone else having some real trouble with the prebuilt coils? I have tried the 6's and 8's and they seem to last for like a day and then start burning out. I prime the hell out of them with juice and then let them sit in a full tank for a while before even trying to use them. I use them for a day or two and they just always seem to burn out so fast. I see other people post how they get so much life out of the coils. Anyone else having this problem? I've reverted back to using the TFV4 since I have no problems with that but I do really like the TFV8 when it is actually working.

Still have the V8 with the coil that came installed... Been about a week now running 100% VG at 125w...massive clouds and it still hits awesome..
In fact I like it so much I just ordered another one...hope this coil lasts a month or so..

I've tried the pre built T8'S and T6'S
I'm using the V8-T6 .15 ohm prebuilt coil..Rated up to a whopping 260w with 120-180w best recommended by Smok..

That said it runs perfect for me at a smooth 125w, seen here on my 300w Koopor Primus mod..it's not hot at all, despite what people might think vaping at over 100w, the way this tank was designed to do ...
65w isn't near enough for this cloud blowing tank, I would crank that puppy up to at least 120w and give it a couple deep lung vapes..airflow is best for me wide open.. BTW, flavor is intense, especially after vaping a full tank on a new coil...good luck and keep us posted, [emoji12]

Just ordered one of these bad @$$ TFV8s. I know I won't be let down like I am with the Crown v2! I think the T4 will be my go to coil.
Your gonna like it

I noticed they came out with TFV8 V8-X4 Quad Coils , features double-barreled pistol design. Not sure how that differs from the TFV8 V8-Q4 Quad Coils A new TFV8 RBA 16. looks like it is getting s lot of new stuff.

I also noticed that Smok now has the SMOK TFV8 BABY Beast Tank - 3ml. That is about half the size. You have to fill it after every 3 pulls lol. Too bad it takes baby coils.
