I had a few smokes today after quitting analogs because I was really stressed out. Now it is the only thing I think about, I know when I wake up tomorrow morning I will have strong urges and will some how manage to convince myself smoking is good for me despite the facts on the contrary. What can I do to remain in the quit zone and resolve my inhibitions so I can quit for good?

Puff like hell on that 901! When I get strong urges to smoke,
I just grab my 510 and puff away, and think about other things. Before I know it, it's passed. I know this sounds like common sense info, but yeah, just do what you did the first time you quit. If you really want to quit, then do it. I'm on my 5th day of zero tobacco, and honestly the feeling of pride is stronger than the feeling of wanting to smoke. Stay strong!

Right now we live in a 2 story house. My son kept his cigs downstairs in a drawer of mine that way he had to actually get up and come downstairs and try to figure out which drawer I had hid them in. I changed the drawer every time he got one,lol They are menthol so there was no fear of me smoking them, lol My husband keeps his cigs in the bedroom which I don't go into since I can't walk so I'm good there. I usually vape 16-18mg. I keep a 22mg for the times I want a cig and I hit it for a bit and it really helps me. I have one cig that I keep in an ashtray sitting beside me. It is so old now I'm afraid to pick it up, it will probably fall apart, lol

Don't beat yourself up over a few smokes during a stressful time. Just dust yourself off and get back to vaping after you get the cigs out of your house! Good luck. You can do this!

DO NOT beat yourself up over puffin' on a few analogs. It took a month for me to stop completely. I am now on my 2nd month of vaping only. Tried to smoke a cig 2 wks ago and couldn't wait to put it out & get my PV. BTW I was a 2 pk+ a day smoker for 35 yrs. I think the stress for me came from thinking that I had to quit because I loved to smoke. Now, I love to vape. Still carry a half pack of stale cigs in my purse. Using the 36mg is a good idea and step up your flavors. Perhaps more tobacco flavors like marlboro, va blend mixed w/ some creamy flavors like chocolate or coffee. The fruits just don't seem to tame the beast of wanting an analog. Hang in there......

I think the whole wanting a analog cig is psychological more then anything. Smoking is very much a ritual type of habit, so everything from needing a lighter to flicking a ash is habit. I have a pack of the small marlboro cigies in my purse, when I was at the store a few weeks ago I just couldnt help but buy them!8-o It just felt wrong to not buy a pack of cigs LOL I have had a couple, they don't taste good at all, but again the whole metal deal kicks in again  I do think it will become more and more manageable as time passes, but for some of us its harder then others. I smoked a pack a day for 20 years, and yes I enjoyed smoking. Hence why I think the vaping is a great habit to take its place :D

Don't have the cigs readily accessible. Get rid of any that you have around your house. You want it to require effort and inconvenience to get your hands on some.........

YES, THIS POST NAILED IT!

I continued to smoke even with my e-cig because I had packs of analogs around.

One day (only 4 days ago I might add :D, got my first e-cig about 2 weeks ago) I simply told myself that "This is the last pack" (I got to say, this was only after finding my Preferred flavor of e-liquid that gave me pretty much the identical sensation my NewPort analogs gave me)!

I was dieing for a real Cig this morning when i woke-up, picked up my e-cig and puffed away like there was no tomorrow! Not only did the urge go away but I got the greatest rush of nicotine that calmed me down and got me started on my day! :) Was quite enjoyable too!!!

I am in LOVE with my e-cig, I tried everything and nothing worked, my M402 hits the spot! :D

Good luck man, it's a mental game, just simply tell yourself that YOU CANNOT HAVE IT!!! Worked for me!

P.S.~ I know, it's only been 4 days for me, but consider this... I have never went longer then 5 hours without at-least hitting a real cig in 12 years of smoking, so 4 days for me is incredible in my eye's and the people around me. As long as I always have my e-cig around, I have no doubts in my mind that I will never go back to analogs, I find the e-cig to be a more enjoyable habit for me (and yes, it's a habit! I had it in my hand all day each of the last 4 days, my fiance keeps telling me to get a darn case for it already!lol ) :)

I'm only at a week today, but I've only smoked 1 analog since last Monday. What has worked for me is to treat it like an analog. I'll take a drag or two every once in awhile at my desk, but I'll still go down for a "smoke break" at every time that I used to.

It hardly seems any different to me, because I'm not changing my habits at all.

Just because you can smoke it inside doesn't mean you can't still go outside to smoke like you used to...especially if you live or work with people who you're used to smoking with.

While I'm not so keen on them now, I had a Nucig Super-mini, which looks and (almost) handles like the real thing. Using that, I think, helped emormously. I'm now on a 901, and have just ordered a Janty Dura-C PCC kit, which, I think, will ease the "have to recharge, need a wall socket" angst - although I think a Stick or SD will be on the cards when funds permit.

May 27th was the last day I smoked an analogue, and, to be honest, I don't want to go back to them, even though, on holiday, it'd probably be easier.

I'm not going to get all evangelical - I'll just say that I'm really, really happy to be off tobacco, but still "smoking" - and that's the key, I think.

My problem is that my second battery was DOA, so I had to send it back and having just one battery is TERRIBLE! I have to find an outlet everywhere I go, just I can vape. I smoked like half a pack of analogs a day, down from a full pack.

Oh and then something worse happened! My one battery died! SO I'm back on the analogs, but it looks like I'll be getting my package today with multiple batteries, so maybe I can give up the analogs now.

Good to see you back on here yosh,

personally if I had an analog after 3 weeks of vaping-only, they would taste so horrible that I wouldn't be able to finish it. I think once your taste returns fully and you're lungs start clearing up it will be a lot easier to avoid them altogether.

Make sure you are getting a strong throat hit from your e-cig and also enough nicotine to surpress the urges to go back to the 'logs..

What can I do to remain in the quit zone and resolve my inhibitions so I can quit for good?

It all boils down to inner strength, resistance and resolve. Sounds trite, but that's what it takes.

But I hear ya. I have an analog every now and then, always keep some in the house because it's like a safety net. But I'm telling you, quitting the death-sticks is a commitment no matter what alternate course you take. The e-cigs have helped me tremendously. Just yesterday I was out with my kids for the afternoon -- miniature golf, lunch, fooling around in the park -- I didn't smoke anything for five hours and never had the urge and never thought about smoking, vaping, whatever. Just knowing my charged-up 510's and VK's were in the car waiting for me if needed was a tremendous comfort in the back of my mind. I didn't "need" them. It was a good day. :)
