Syav, vape and if you feel the urge that you need a cig, try it. Take a couple puffs and fling it. lol. I've done that about 4 times just to see if I was still missing it. Weird, I know. Last time was when I was stressed because I became a grandma. LOL. Took a couple puffs cause my ex was smoking outside, then went inside and got my ecig. Sometimes we have to reassure ourselves we aren't missing out on anything. ha!
LoL! The last time I tried that was 3 days ago. My cigarette tasted awful and I felt a bit sick from it. And you're right about smoking analogs is a miserable life. All my clothes smell like ashtray. My apt stink. Now there's fresh air in my apt and it no longer stinks. My breathing is better. When I sleep at night if feels like I'm getting a lot of oxygen in my lungs, LoL!

i am pretty new as well, and i can honestly say that I have no desire to smoke a regular cigarette ever again! With that being said, the thing that helped me the most, was having the support of my boyfriend, and sweet tobaccos. Still gave me a cigarette taste, but reminded me that I can have something better!Wish you the best of luck!!
Thanks, Tiffany!

Oh you can do it :)! I have been an analog smoker for 10 years, I work 12 hours a day at a job I hate, and I'm currently renting a house that the owner failed to pay the mortgage on so, I'm literally about to be homeless if I don't find something affordable soon, and I have a big dog, so that makes it even harder. Anyway, enough of my self pity, but through all of that, I have quit, for 5 months now, and vaping helped me through it. Many many different vendors will offer many different flavors, you must find the one that is right for you to be able to quit. The right juice just makes all the difference in the world.

Wow I can no longer start a new thread on New Members Forum, so I'm posting here instead. Been struggling to quit analogs for 2 months now. After I got my 24mg juices I finally got the TH and the "kick" that I need to avoid analogs. Stressful job makes it difficult. Psychological aspects makes it even more difficult. When I feel depressed it makes me want to smoke a cigarette. But today is the 3rd day that I haven't smoked any cigarettes. Hope I can make it...and quit analogs for good.

Thanks for listening. :)

Congratulation! Of course you can quit - AND have a ball doing it.

This is what helped me.
1. Make sure you don't run out of something... Such an easy excuse to start smoking again.
2. Make sure your juice nic is high enough.
3. Remove or discard all ashtrays, lighters etc.
4. Avoid usual smoking places and pitstops as much as possible for awhile.
5. Have one VV device to crank up the volume for the rough spots.
6. Have one high nic tobacco flavor juice for mornings or rough spots.
7. Have FUN enjoying sinfully delicious bakery (or whatever floats tour boat) juices.
8. This one, I do personally, but don't necessarily recommend.... I have some nice German snuff lol.... (I couln't get hold of Swedish snuss). I use it only one or twice in a week for when I get a strong craving.

Success!

If the rest of us can, so can you. We're all individuals, but nobody on here is some special case that couldn't stop smoking (if they wanted to, some want to smoke some). If you want to, and you don't get discouraged when you're not having a great vape day (those days will happen), then you will be able to quit.

I'm 60 years old & I smoked for over 45 years. I haven't touched an analog in over 13 months. What saved me is a little advice I got on ECF from several veterans. That advice was don't concider it a failure if you give in & smoke one. Count the analogs that you don't smoke. That freed me, and I never smoked another, but knew I could if I really wanted to. I just never did.

There will be times that maybe you want to smoke one. But each day that goes by, the analogs will taste worse & worse until you'll think that they are the worst tasting crap you've ever had. You'll think vaping is the best way to get your nic. When that happens, my friend, your free.

Keep on vapin'.

BTW, today I've been analog free for 1 year, 1 month, 1 week & 1 day! Yay me!

Sorry to hear about your house situation. Hope things will get better for you.

Great tips, thanks dragonbone :) I've just ordered 24mg Turkish tobacco and Cuban cigar flavor to substitute my tobacco craving. Wish I had ordered those sooner before I quit smoking. But I haven't tried any bakery flavors. And yeah I put away my lighters, Malboro packs, and ashtray as you suggested LoL!

@DummyMe: Congratulations! :D

If you're looking for new flavours to try, may I suggest Ms Ts Bakery.

The can take a while to get to you because she has like a 4-6 day waiting list, but that's because she sells a quality product that everyone wants. The New Watermelon flavour is brilliant.

I would also suggest keeping your old smoking routines. If you were going outside to smoke, go outside to vape. If you had a cup of coffee or tea with your cigarette, do the same with your vaping. If you hung out with smoking buddies at work in a smoking area, do the same with your ecig. Automatic batteries help with the psychological aspect as well in my opinion.

After a while the smell of cigarette smoke will begin to repulse you. I have quit for nearly four months now, and I never crave a cigarette, the thought of it makes me feel ill.

Syav,

Here's a tip for you: if you use a high nic liquid during the day, consider switching to lower nic about an hour or more before you go to bed. I and a lot of people have found that too much nicotine interferes with getting to sleep.

It's very easy to sit and chain vape while watching TV in the evening before bedtime. I regularly vape 24mg and having a lot of trouble falling asleep, sometimes tossing and turning for a couple of hours before nodding off. I got some 12mg juice and started using that after dinner; it really helped.

Getting a good night's sleep will help to deal with stress and ease your transition from smoking.

I totally agree with Monkeybusiness. Heck, for 30 years I've been allowed to go outside and stretch my legs at the office and smoke. Why not do it when I vape? Even though I can sneak some vapes at my desk, I still designate a time where I can go in an empty office (we have many now due to the recession) or go outside and have my personal 5 mins. of major vaping. lol. Sometimes the stealth vaping just doesn't get it for me at my desk, and it's nice to keep my very ingrained routine I've have over the years. :)

The only thing that worked for me was quitting without ecigs and after a few weeks switching to ecigs instead of caving in and cheating with clips (I'm not he only smoker to pull used butts out of my ashtray lol) or bumming here and there like happened so many times in my past.

Everyone's different of course. But in hindsight I should have known that's how I needed to do it. I was addicted big time. I used the patch to quit like I have so many times before, but instead of going back to analogs I went back to digitals :)

I had success just doing several of the tips already mentioned. I vape a lot right now. I do the same habits even though I don't have to. I go out in my garage to vape as that's where I smoke. I tend to keep my kit in my hand a lot just like I would hold a cigarette.
So far I've got one week down from my last analog and things look good so far.

Good luck!

I agree totally! I kept a lot of my old smoking routines. ie going out to vape at work instead of smoke. Vaping with my coffee in the morning etc. It made me feel like I was not really quitting and made it easier. I still go out and vape with my friends that smoke at work. They are totally down with that. They tease me a little sometimes but I have actually talked one of them into making the switch..

I think it will help if you get the right stuff, my gf and I started w/ a few ego twists and a couple mini vivi novas, when we started, we threw out all our cigs, and promised each other we wouldn't smoke any more. Honestly I didn't miss em from that moment on. w/ the right stuff, vaping is better than smoking IMO, only now I'm more addicted to vaping than I was w/ analogs.

I had the chance to try a coworkers ihybrid and imo it is true that genesis tanks deliver nicotine better, at least than my vivi novas/carto tanks/dripping attys. I don't own one yet, still waiting on getting a ZAP from provape when they're ready/hoping that zen brings some to vapercon, but the one i tried seemed to deliver the nicotine a lot better so if all else fails, maybe try a genesis. It's all a lout finding something that works for you, just like the brand of cigs you like, once you do that you won't look back.

Like others in this thread have said, vaping is not like the patch or gum. It's not a substandard replacement, but a lot of people think of it more like those things. Like you will be struggling with it, as if it is a poor imitation of smoking. It is like going from a beat up old junker to a Rolls Royce my friend. Vaping is sooo much better in every way! I think if more people understood this there would be a lot more vapers these days, my one buddy can't shed that line of thinking even though i've tried to get him to give vaping a serious shot. Note, I have not tried to force it down his throat, lol, i've just had a few chats with him about it.

The first 2 months after I got my e-cig I was bouncing between it and analogs. Started off with an eGo battery and the 510 atty/cart combo and they just weren't doing it for me
Got the eGo-C tank and I've been off analogs for about 3 weeks now

I like the idea of the smaller e-cigs, the fact they're not much bigger than analogs/etc, but it seems their vapor/flavor/etc output is lacking
