Smokers / Ex-smokers only - What was your experience with NRT patches?

Did try patches years ago, but smoked at the same time.
They didnt really do anything for me, except maybe make the skin under the patch itchy.

I did meet the guy who invented the nic patches at the NEC some years ago (volunteered to help Louise Ross from Leicester SSS) - he said he wished he'd invented vaping.....
