I love love love my EGO Twist an have found two flavors that I like. I'm using my twist most if the time but am still smoking about 10-15 analogs a day. I was smoking about 2 packs a day up till Friday.

I just was wondering if anyone else is using both and kind of cutting back or are you just switching?

I have been using the analogs before bed and in the car. The rest of the time my twist.

My hubby used both... it only took him about a month to quit the smokes completely though. He just had to find something that worked for him.

You just have to do the same. Find something you love and stick with it. Make smoking a cigarette a hassle. Don't allow yourself to smoke in the car anymore. Don't smoke in the house. If you need a smoke, go stand in the cold. He changed all his habits up and made it so inconvenient that he just forgot to smoke - seriously.

But, for now, if your end goal is to totally get off the smokes, then congratulations on those cigarettes you didn't smoke! That, in itself, is a huge accomplishment! :)

I had originally planned to do both. I got my e-cig to use in the house and other places where smoking is not allowed. I had 3 packs of analogs left in a carton when I got my equipment. I was a pack a day smoker but once I started vaping, those 3 last packs lasted for about a week. Once they were gone, I didn't buy any more and don't plan to. :)

What strength nicotine is in your e-liquid? Two packs per day merits 24mg nic strength in my opinion.

It's important to find a couple of good flavors that you don't mind using all day, probably more important than the battery that you use. Switch out between flavors during the day helps.

When I started vaping, I vaped as much and as frequently as I desired. If I felt the urge for a cigarette, I vaped harder and more frequently. If still the urge didn't go away, I would allow myself part of the cigarette and put it out to save for later. I allowed myself 3-4 cigarettes a day, and cut that back to one a day by the end of a week. By the time the pack was finished, I didn't want to buy another pack. I began to dislike the taste of the partially smoked cigarette, and to prefer the e-cig.

A wise man once said, "It's not the cigarettes that you smoke, but the ones that you didn't that count." Not sure if that makes sense to you, but it made me feel better at the time.

some people here stop cigs immediately and some (like me) smoke and vape for a while, as said above, count the ones you don't smoke.

I always tell people like I was told. It's not the ones you smoke that counts. It's the ones you don't smoke that count the most. I still smoke one when I want it. It's just not very often now that I want one. If I do want it I smoke it. If I don't then I vape. No problem, no big deal.

Everyone's experience is different, there are some people who switch straight to vaping and there are some who still smoke analogs and vape.
I'm personally vaping to cut back, with the goal of kicking analogs all together, but I am taking things a day at a time. I still smoke analogs when the craving is strong, but vaping has helped me cut down the amount I smoke already. I was smoking about a pack a day for a while, and now I usually don't have more than 5 cigarettes in a day! I think it's amazing, and if you had asked me before I discovered vaping I wouldn't have believed it.

I didn't expect to get my e cigs until monday (tomorrow) and ended up getting them saturday, so I had bought 4 packs to last the weekend on friday. I have smoked about 4 or 5 analogs today, but it is getting harder to smoke them as the more I use the e cig the worse the analogs taste and smell. I hate to waste these other packs... but not sure I will keep them with the way they taste in comparison

There are others my friend. :)

I, myself, vape & smoke analogs. I've been a pack a day (20 cigarettes) for years & about 2-3 weeks ago I acquired my first rechargeable e-cig. Since then I've only been smoking 4-5 analogs a day!
It's awesome progress in my eyes. The thought of going from a pack a day to only vaping was not a plan or an idea.

Also like you pinkpirate, there are certain times at which I only smoke analogs.
Right when I wake up.
Driving.
& right before I go to bed.

I admit there are probably 2 times during the day that I just have that urge of wanting an analog & I smoke one.

Personally, I think from going from 20 cigarettes a day to 4-5 is great for now. I do plan on eventually not wanting to smoke analogs but for now... I need a vape.

Good luck & good health!

Hiya pink,

Well I am a long time smoker, turned vaper who fell off the wagon after over a year and let my supplies dwindle and went back to smoking and now finally going back to vaping hopefully for good. The easiest way I found this time is if you can just switch over that's great but as long as your cutting down you will eventually get to the point where you realize you dont need them anymore. I now I don't have much room to talk here but all I can say is don't run out of supplies, that was my biggest mistake as I really liked vaping previously but was in a bad spot and fell to temptation when I ran out of atty's etc. Going to make it work this time. Wish you all the best in your effort to finally get rid of the smellies. :)

Congrats Pink- you are more than half way there !!!
I got my Ego-C (Love It) a week ago friday at 3PM- started vapping right away, did not have a ciggy that night.
Next morning vapping, tried a 'burro'- 2 puffs and put it out- tasted bad. Burned all my cigs, tobacco, pipe tobacco, cigars- everything in the Outdoor Wood Furnace. Found that I like the 'Flavors' and not so much the 'Tobbaco' E-juice- It keeps me happy.
You will just need to find a flavor, or flavors that work for you- and vape enough 'nic' so that you don't have a desire for an analog.

I think you are doing great- Best to You !

I didn't intend to stop smoking when I did. I initially started out just trying to cut back the amount that I was smoking. I went from a pack a day for 17 years to about 4-5 a day. I noticed 1 day that I hadn't smoked at all and it just kept going from there. I do get cravings from time to time, but they are becoming less frequent and less intense. I took a drag of a cig after a little over a week of smoking my last one and it tasted awful. I really am starting to believe that my smoking days are starting to be a thing of the past. Cutting back the way you have is a great accomplishment, you'll know when the time to completely give em up comes.

I think I smoked about a pack total for my first month while vaping before I finally stopped resetting my sig. But that was coming from a 2 pack a day habit so I almost quit right off the bat. Everyone takes it different.

I've been vaping for just over a month. I still get urges for a normal smoke and do at times indulge myself in them. I go through about a pack in a 2 week period. I intend to leave the analogs behind completely it's just not as easy as I thought it would be. Most likely it is a mental thing. I just need to get past that mental block to drop them all together.

The two flavors that I really like are 24 mg but some samples sets are less so I'm not sure how well that will be.

I do find that my analogs taste bad compared to the e-cig and honestly after trying everything to quit am amazed that this is working as well as it has.

Thank you all for the kind words.

I started vaping while I smoked. I smoked 1.5 packs a day for 35 years. I used the APV to replace cigarettes one by one over a five month period. When I got down to 3-5 cigarettes a day I quit smoking entirely and relied on vaping exclusively.

Some quit cold turkey. Some quit suddenly and take up vaping. Some taper down the smoking while vaping. Everyone is different and the goals are different. I wanted to quit smoking entirely.
