If you have never seen Bebe's (from the Fraser Show) monologue on why smoking is wonderful ..... unfortunately whats missing in this clip is the end of the show when all the characters are hiding out in the condo somewhere sneaking a cigarette.

I'm thinking more along the lines of a new fad that makes too much sense to squelch, but is strangled by laws, regulations, $$. It's categorized, ie, what is acceptable and what isn't, what is legal, what are you ALLOWED. Streamlined, marketed, taxed. Ya know. It may not be happening now but let's just wait and see. Could be 1 year, could be 5.

I've got optimism oozing out of my pours eh? I really hope it's realism over pessimism. I do hope and pray that none of my predictions come true.

That is inevitable, but is it going to a bad thing, or just different. Sure, this is like the early days of the Internet just they can't last forever nor should they.

The reason I am indifferent to it is that I don't think it will squelch that is going on today, rather squelch what is coming up. There will be your mainstream regulated stuff and your underground stuff (which does not go away). If the government is wise they will strike the right balance so the mainstream stuff meets most of everyone's needs, and who knows, maybe we will benefit from more investment and research into this. Who know what innovations are to come along.

For timing, I don't agree that its mainstream now. There will be a moment when some big movie star uses one really prominently in a BIG movie or something along those lines. Just like how cigarettes caught on via the movies. This is where I am quite cynical - people have to be "taught" how to be cool and this is no different. It will make us cringe ..

I don't think it's anywhere near mainstream now. As it becomes more popular - which I have no doubt it will - that's when I see HC et al. stepping in.

I hear you. You are right HC has no urgency to act yet bc its still marginal. Once it gets bigger, it goes up on their priority list and in they come. They can either help or get in the way. If they get in the way (like they are now?), that's when this thing goes underground to an whole 'nother level.
