This is not intended to poke fun at you, but this is why I meter my carto's before use. Out of 100 kangers, 4 doa, out of 15 boge, 2 doa, and of the smok dc and sc carto's, 4 out of 25 fubar out of the box.

At the same time, you can't predict the Nasty taste you can get right out of the box, or the carto that llasts 30 mins...

I feel for ya.

Do you know the Taryn spin? Those grippy squishy things for pencils that you can get en-masse at the Dollar Store are perfect grippers, just attach a string, put a condom on the opposite end and swing away. Pulls all the juice out mighty quick and easy. Here's the squishies I mean:

I'm using a 2.8 right now & Provari says.............................2.4ohms At 4v it's a good vape.

Ya. These ones aren't very consistent. Some are actually 2.8 but the one I tried after the failed one says 2.7.

I do enjoy them though. Even more than the 1.7s. Usually at 5V if they're actually 2.8.

I've kinda dropped the habit of metering an atty/carto before slapping it on, partially due to having little stacks of them everywhere. Home, Office, Laptop bag, Car etc. I sometimes load and change them on the fly, and unless I carry that meter with me everywhere I go, I will not be able to do that. I'll carry my spare ego's around but I'll be darned if I'm going to carry a MM as well.

I've had cartos and atties that have come up with a variance to their stated ohms, and I've had cartos and atties that have died after very short usage, but not yet have I come across one that was completely DOA out of the box. Not in recent memory that I can think of. You sure you guys with the DOA's are not just not making contact with centre posts etc?! Did y'all meter the DOA's to confirm?

Well, how would you explain what happened to mine?

I'd call it an also ran, and chuck it. :)

Seriously though, it could just be a piece of the coil wire contacting the side of the carto or something similar creating a short.

Yeah, that's what I thought....or maybe the coil is broken and made it shorter? would that do the same thing?

Either way, it's long gone.

If the coil was broken, I doubt it would fire at all.

I actually had a couple of Boge LRs straight out of the box that would not fire, no amount of post adjusting, using different PVs, etc would fix them. This has happened to maybe 2 or 3 out of like 150 I've had though. On the other hand, I did have a few Boges that were just burnt tasting out of the box no matter what, or that had an extremely short life, and the numbers on those seem to only be rising.
