so i just got my Ace from Myfreedomsmokes and right off the bat it felt like it was off.
voltages i mean.
aside from the 510 connector being too deep and causing tanks to bottom out, though connected, and cause air flow to be choked off.
and when the beauty ring is on it really chokes the airflow.

but mine just didnt seam to be putting out the heat compared to my vision spinner and Innokin MVP.
or my Kamry K100 using the same battery

so i tested it directly on the 510 connector with a DMM.

3v (lowest setting) measured over 1.5v below that
6v measured only 5.74v
3.7, my normal voltage range only measured 2.5v
overall i was low by atleast a volt at any given setting until you got into the mid 5v range.

would someone measure theirs, right off the 510 connector, to see what their output is given the voltage setting of the device? (in voltage mode)

i have only used it a few times because of this as i dont want to blow any coils or batteries from severe undervoltage and stress to the battery.
i have no way of measuring it when a tank is attached but i can tell from vapor production, flavor and over crackle sound of the coil that it isnt putting out the voltage it should.

i already have an RMA setup with myfreedomsmokes so am returning it monday, but am curious if others have gotten one with a bad voltage regulator.

i cant measure it but i dont think wattage mode is working properly either
the battery level is reading properly too.

So I got the ram unit and it is the same issue, sort of.
Using Voltage mode and measuring voltage right off the 510 connector 3.7v shows at 2.5v
And equally as wrong on the other settings until you get near 5v. Then it's still wrong but not by as much.

I can not guarantee they replaced or repaired it even though they show it as being repaired but didn't say how...

Vaping is more or less on par maybe using wattage mode but I can't measure that so am not for sure.

Plus the power button isn't always working or more so after the first press and puff many times, and randomly the 2nd or third press of the button and vape is very very low voltage. Very little noise from the coil and I am drawing mostly air.

So overall I say the voltage regulator is bad,,, again or they never replaced/repaired theorist one.

If anyone has a smoktech ace device and has a few moments could you please measure the voltage right off the 510 connector. To see if voltage output is what you set it to?

Since they never answer their phones I will have to setup another ram but I am just curious if the ace has some sort of protection to not push full voltage unless resistance is present...

By standard do you mean an analog meter or oscilloscope? I guess I have only seen osci's measure pwm

Ah if I meant an oscilloscope I would of said that. You know a Standard, run of the mill, buy in any hardware store or lowes/home depot/radio shack kind of MultiMeter.

lestat, you have a point regarding the deep 510/ego connection I get a 9.9 ohm reading when I try to screw on my Evod heads. It seems as if they don't contact the center pin. Is there a way I can fix that problem?

If you take off the beauty cap on the top of the ACE does it let you thread in all the way?

If so you can run it that way and just use an ego beauty ring

Or you can sand down the bottom of the ace cap so it threads down further and let's you then thread down your 510/ego devices more.

Or you can try a small pick and try to pull up the center plunger a bit

But all of that is just poo... We shouldn't have to do that

Call whoever you got it from and do an rma
