OK everyone I have the granddaddy of all updates. Because I am partially impatient and because I though it better to get information from the source, I called to see if I could pay for shipping to have it expedited to me since I was contenplating ordering a few things from them.
Here is what I was told from them over the phone.
No I couldn't pay for expedited shipping, they are currently un packaging the units and preparing them for shipment (presumably because they are using smok's account for shipping, so they don't have to pay for it)
No you can not drive to NC to pick them up. They are sending them out.
They will be shipping them via 2 day (forgot to ask what carrier but probably ups or fedex if I had to guess)
They implied it would go out on a last name basis (don't quote me on that, it's just how I took it with how the convo went) and the reason it will take so long is because they have to manually add 138 new people and addresses to the system and everything else associated with shipping products. On top of their regular orders and orders from their other stores.
They only received 119 units from smok. That means 19 U.S. Winners will be unlucky and not get their units 3-5 days after they have shipped out the majority of the winners. Apparently smok sent what they had on hand and are currently packaging another shipment for the remaining winners.
No, you can not change them to blacks. I asked to prevent people from going "well if they are 19 short, I'll take a black"
SMOK literally just sent them the addresses and they got the list yesterday.
They were super friendly and apoligized for the wait. They said it should be a shorter wait. Hopefully 2-3 weeks but they are saying a month because they have to deal with quite a bit of "normal orders" and understandably, those come first.
I did suggest that maybe one of them jump on to ease our collective minds and they said that was a good idea and they might do that.
I also apoligized for bugging them and thanked them for being part of this giveaway since it seems like it was thrust upon them.
They said no worries and that they understand how we feel to want to get our winnings.
They gave me permission to share all of this to help alleviate yall and to hopefully answer all our questions.
They handled this very well imo. Seeing as they were in the dark about this untill like the winners deadline.
