I can not find them anywhere after the recall. And absolutely nothing does the job like my groove did.

I am looking to buy the black plastic model. If anyone knows of a vendor selling the "fixed" version that is spoken of in a thread or two; or, if anyone has one that wasn't sent back, I would be willing to purchase one, as long as its in good condition. I understand that this unit was recalled, I understand that I will be using this device at my own risk. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. :)

These are catching on fire in people's hands, which is why they were recalled. Check out the MVP box mod. It's much better, I think vaperev.com is the cheapest place I've seen it.

Only the metal ones have a physical issue but smok recalled them both, saying the platics also have a battery protection issue.

I'm not saying the plastics are %100 safe. I think they're a lot safer than texting while driving for sake of argument. For SMOK to loose money and recall the plastics, there must be a reason, unless they simply didn't want someone to claim they thought their metal one was plastic so they kept it and it caused a problem and through some fine print of that = SMOK is liable.

I kept mine at my own risk. I charge it with the vent holes up and away from anything if I'm not by it. I'd put it in a battery safety charging bag if I were more worried.

I might send you a freebee if you can link an issue ever reported of the thousands and thousands of plastic groove that were sold.

The MVP isn't better. It might be built better, but I drop tested three plastic grooves before returning them - I eventually had to smash them down to get a crack- they're good enough. Groove has much higher mAhs than MVP and an ohm reader, so I wouldn't say MVP is even close. MVP can tell how much battery life is left better than the groove. MVP= three color stages while pressing fire, Groove= can only show volts the battery is operating at and lower than 3.7-ish hints it's low. But if you run the Groove dead and need to even know how much life is left, you'll probably need to vape 10 ml a day as long as you charge it daily.

MVP i say is second best. I prefer large internal batteries and a box design.
Fasttech has the deal for the MVP at $45 w/ free shipping.
