I just found the SMOKTech RDA Rebuildable Atomizer for $9.25 in pretty colors.

It looks cute and all. But, it's made of oxidized aluminum. Is that safe?

I think a more accurate word would be anodized, which means adding a layer of oxidation for protective or decorative purposes, in this case to make them colored. I'm guessing it's safe, many drip tips and drip shields are made with anodized aluminum.

As far as I know it's safe.

rda is a good atty. Good air hole placement, and contrary to what I've read, it doesn't leak. It's large and taller than my igo-l, tall posts are simple to work with, and I like the color option of black. Vapor production is potentially excellent(depending on setup).

I just thought that was an interesting observation. I really like black accessories. I have a black PV. It was my requirement when I was looking for a PV. I wish more people made accessories in black. Its such a nice look and works great with stainless steel parts. I do have some drip tips and a black phiniac tank. They have some things like Vivi Nova replacement tanks, but Id like to see some more high end devices in black.

Rda with short aluminum drip tip on a vamo. 1.3ohm with 28awg 5/6 wrap. Used the original 8 silica strands with the addition of a strand of 3mm silica. Vapes like a champ and is easy to work with. 20 drops of liquid and no leaking.

This is on par with the ego-l overall, but i like the size and finish of the igo-l better. Igo is much shorter and about the same width.

I've heard that the "octopus" from Gotvapes leaks!

It only leaks if you overfill it, because the air hole is drilled into the bottom of the base. If the wicks can't soak up anymore juice it will leak through the air hole out the side. At least it doesn't go to your battery connection. Really though, it all depends on how much wick you build with. You can't expect 4 strands to hold the same amount of drops as 8 strands (same size anyway). If you rebuild with a ton of wick (as the above poster did) then you can get quite a few drops without leaking.

You must really hate gotvapes, you have been knocking them in every forum possible. Vivi nova, natural, rda....

I got my smoktech rda's from gotvapes and they function perfectly, but that has nothing to do with gotvapes since smoktech manufactured them just like the rest of the rdas out there.

Got mine from GotVapes as well, and no problems with it.
