I'm having a problem with my RSST. The tank sits very very loose between the top and base pieces. It won't let me screw down tightly. Everything just keeps turning and turning. I've noticed that the plastic nut in the base piece is very loose. I think it I could get it to sit more tightly, that may help, but I'm not sure.

Ok I have been using rda's for a little and have them right. Just got a new rsst. I'm pretty sure I have it setup right. The negative end of the coil will start to glow but only if I hold the switch for a little. How do I know I set it up right? What exactly should it taste like? And if I want to change the e liquid do I have to redo a mesh and coil all over again?
Ideally, if you have an RBA, such as the RSST, set up perfectly, with prefectly equal length legs, the coils will begin to glow from the center out. Often times, this isn't the case, and the coil will begin to glow from one end or the other first. But as long as they all glow equally, all is good.
When I change liquids, I just suck out whatever juice is remaining in the bottom of the tank with a syringe, dry burn the coil, with the device horizontal, in order to get the wick as dry as possible, and then fill with the new juice.

Actually, I have no idea. Not trying to be smart, but I've never had to replace a coil, due to wearing it out. Normally, the only time I'll change a coil is when I'll get a wild hair about something I want to try. I don't really know how long a coil will last, before it wears out or fails. But it's a long time. I have a couple RBAs that have had the same coils in them for months. I'll just dry burn them and brush them off in between tank fulls.
I use 3ml luer lock syringes with a 16 or 18ga blunt tip needle. I have lots of them around, because I use them in my DIY juice making.
Same here LOL Ill just decide to try something different .If I didnt mess with mine so much I could see coil lasting a very long time but with wire being so cheap I dont really worry about recoiling when I feel like it
No matter what i try the wire next to negative screw glows when the wick is wet and after a little while it breaks in that spot.
What size piece of mesh are you guys using on your RSST? I keep making it to small where it doesn't keep up with wicking, or I use too much and it's wicks like crazy and it's too harsh and goes through a tank in an hour.
I use about 75-80mm of 400 mesh. I start the roll on a straightened paper clip, in order to have something solid to roll against. My wicks aren't bone crushing tight; but not loose either. Just a nice, firm roll.
I use SS rope wicks with just small amount of mesh wrapped around top to make coiling easier .
I must be doing something wrong, I'm not happy with a full mesh wick. Tried solid/tight, loose, & hollow 500, wicking sucks with my VG & I constantly have to tilt. Switched to 300 & it was better but I hated the heatsinking issue. Then I went with 3mm Ekowool only, then I was getting good results. Now I have a thin tight 300 covered with 2mm Ekowool, best performance I have got yet & no heatsinking issues. Still can't compare with my Reos though and every RBA I have used on them so far. But one RSST I will keep around.
Some RSST`s have threading issues,you may have too retap the threads with a 7mm x .5 die,i had the same problem,i just worked the tank into my Mod,it wasnt easy,but it worked ok with stripping any threading
I think glass is overrated anyway,a good plastic like polyproplene wont crack anyway.
My general rule of thumb is: If it cracks or melts plastic, I'm not vaping it. I don't care how yummy it is.
