I just got mine yesterday and fully disassembled it, including the button assembly. I just found this thread, so I'll be sanding all the contacts tonight.

The switch assembly is a pain to get back together, tighten, then still be able to spin the locking ring. But it's not too terrible.

I played with the stock spring a bit, it's definitely too stiff. I'm thinking of taking a spring from a ballpoint pen, widening it, and putting that in its place. Should decrease the amount of force needed for it.

Lastly, the bottom pin that recesses into the bottom cap I think can be shortened with a dremel. For my Efest 18650 2000mah battery, it's too tight and I can't screw everything tight without putting the positive post way high. Which obviously causes whatever device on top to sit too high.

I LMAO when I read your post....:p
Not because anything was 'wrong' with it.... It just started with " got mine yesterday....disassembled it"....
Then, I read your username....'Finagle'....guess you would be one to disassemble a new mod !!!
I vaped mine first....will sand the contacts lightly when the weekend allows.

What's with the 'buttons to stiff' thing ?
Muscle up people !
I don't want my mod firing off 'that easy'.

:D

LOL, you got it. When I get something new, I take it apart. :)

With the fact that the button can be locked out with the ring, it doesn't need to be that tight to actuate.

Haha, yeah, when I saw 'finagle', the rest made sense. ;-)

So how did you get the nut outta there? What tools did you use and how?

Really looking forward to hearing how you did it; don't wanna Conan my thing and mar it up. TIA!

Hey, I dont suppose you could post a photo of how that Vape Only tank looks can ya!

I see Absintheur beat me to the punch. I like the feel of this setup and the VO bcc tank is growing on me. Got mine seated a bit lower and the gap is less (using flat top batts in it). Could probably play around w/ sanding the tank caps so that everything looked one-pieceish. Hmmm, my next mini-project. ;-)

I didn't bother to take the nut off and switch. Jesus, imagine getting that bolt back in there? Instead I sanded my sh|t from the inside. Probably would have been quicker to to take the bolt off the switch. I still for the life of me couldn't figure out how to get the center rod out. It's like embedded in a piece of plastic. No idea how to get it out. Thought the rod might be threaded into each other on the top and bottom sides since they are both slotted. I sanded the rod by stuffing sandpaper inside and rotating the rod and holding the sandpaper against the rod with a screwdriver, turning the rod with another screwdriver. All to get .0000001 of a volt. LOL. Just bustin ya guys. If I didn't want a gain, I wouldn't have done it. I did both of mine.

Yeah, the rod had me stumped in the beginning, but figured out that it's two pieces that connect at the plastic. So, you gotta use two screwdrivers to get it out. Actually, I use a screwdriver and a dime. After a couple of times doing it, it's pretty easy. (still takes me longer to do that should though -- haha).

The negative post is two posts with a small washer and spring between them. Hold the post from the bottom with needle nose pliers while screwing the top post off with a screwdriver. Be careful not to lose the tiny washer and spring. It will work without the washer, it will just fall out if you turn it upside down. Mine wouldn't thread back together with the washer in place so I'm using it in a genesis atty.

It's tricky getting it back together so be warned.

For those with button stiffness, here's some exercises that will build finger strength.

Paul Gilbert Shredding - YouTube

I have plenty strong hands/fingers, but it'd be nice (for me) to be able to press the button w/o having to necessarily have to 'grip' the mod so tightly. Especially in pinky mode.

I'm not gonna be pocketing mine and/or really throwing it in a bag and going, so less tension to just depress would make it better for me.

So the two ends of the rod are threaded together through the plastic? Is there a spring in there too? It feels like it.

Yep. Easy to take apart. Just sit the big pin atop on a screwdriver (upside down) on a table and hold the tube/screwdriver constant. Then go counterclockwise on the small pin w/ a screwdriver or a small coin.

When I put it back together, I put the tube back upright and then take a tweezers and place the spring and pin back in the plastic part. Then, put the bottom rod in the bottom cap and then the washer on top of it. Then screw the cap back onto the bottom tube. It won't be really tight, but will get it back together easy so then you can do the reverse of taking it apart w/o trying to have to hold both pieces together precariously and trying to screw at the same time.

I lost that stupid little washer some how....it fell right in front of me but some how it disappeared.....couldn't find it. Anyway I just found a small rubber washer to replace it.....which works out better because it doesn't have to go in between the threading and the two parts of the pin. Now I can simply pull out the pin as a whole...instead of unscrewing the two pieces apart.

I forgot to add that since the pin truly becomes once piece with the rubber washer....you can also sand the plating where the two parts of the pin make contact with each other.....making an overall better conducting pin.

I used a pair of long needle-nose pliers to hold the nut in place, then just gripped the ring/switch and unscrewed it. Putting it back together is the tougher part.

I just took mine apart. I used emery cloth to sand down just enough to change the color of metal. It made a lot of difference. It always seemed like I needed to push the button harder after an hour of changing battery. It was getting that way now. So I decided to try it. It is now easier to get it to fire. I didn't need to change the battery. I have a kick in mine.

That pic was the only time a Vape Only BCC will be on my Natural, just popped it on for the pic. The KAMRY on it in my pic is working very nicely on it plus it vapes great with a .357HH as well. Maybe my AC9 will fit well on it, should be here this week.

I've been thinking about the Kamry lately. You like it, eh? Don't have any other mod w/ a bottom button like that.
