Sporadic firing and hot button sounds just like a short to me. I would reconnect the igo first, with the natural top cap off and positive pin screwed all the way down, when the igo is fully screwed in screw the natural pin up until it makes contact. If that doesn't work, check the coil, make a new one if necessary. This happens to me with an A7 all the time because it's stupid hot pin is so quirky, can't even get a steady resistance reading unless it's on a top cap. Heat in the mod is a dead giveaway. There's nothing I can think of on a natural that can short out unless someone had a staple or some other big metalic piece wedged above the battery.

Thanks chains. Yep. Already tried that, and removed all staples and 8' of barb wire. Have no idea where that came from.
Think a complete tear down and cleaning is in order.
I'm sure it's somewhere in the mod. Same problem with a carto, but carto, igo and same batt work great in the Provari.
Yep....think the natural and myself need a good cleaning.

I appreciate all the help/advice. Been on this forum for nearly 3 years and it never ceases to amaze me how helpful everyone is here.

Lol...remember when I said that I've been accused(rightfully so) of being a dumbass?
You know how when you have a bonfire....then you get up in the morning and there is always that 1 piece of hardwood tha started to burn, but didn't really burn, but got really good and charred and is rock hard????
That was my 4 week old wick.
5 minute recoil and new wick and I remember why I love this igo....vapor and flavor galore.

does anyone know where i can get another 18650 tube for my natural? I lost the one tha came with it in a hotel somewhere and i am tired of these 18350. I would really like to get another tube without having to buy another natural.

Speaking of 650 tubes.. does anyone make 1 piece 18650 tube for this mod?.. im not a huge fan of having a 3 pieced tube for battery.

Also is it safe to remove the 2 piece bottom contact and pin and use just a flat brass machine screw instead for a negative post?

The bottom firing pin on mine also broke but I walked over to Sears Hardware and found a "brass" machine screw that would fit the hole in the plastic, length didn't matter because I sanded it to fit. For $0.37 the screw works better than the 2 piece firing pin did. Even with the contact point being the threads and the fact it looks like brass plated steel, if it even is brass at all. Either way for $0.37 I'm not complaining.

18500 tube from e. vapers. I have 18350 flat tops, fitting with kick. No gaps. you are correct that you can remove the bottom, switch rod. Then cut 3-4 mm off of bottom. But when i removed this & say ..... is this itty bitty thread on here?? sits right over were the fire button runs threw tube & makes contact... I made a solid bottom battery rod, stainless is all i had. Now this hits great & kick is in flush.. If i can figure out how to post pix, i would. I did take pix, just so i will remember in the am. Oh with kick & all sealed up, it is under 4 inches long, took pix next to a bic lighter. Just a great Natural now. Satin finish aga t looks great resting on top. I did not cut top pin, but polished to brass.

Can you post some pics of this mod?

anyone having issues with the button getting hot? i sanded down the chromed parts to expose the brass and now the button gets hot. any ideas? thanks.

i dont know if this has been posted yet but yes you can .... fit a 18650 flat top with the kick in the natural !!! by useing the long 18500 tube in place of the small tube in 18650 mode. awsome ! though some batterys are longer than others you may have to file 1-2 mm off the bottom battery pin were the flat screwdriver slot is cut . this doesnt even cut the slot all the way off and will not afect the switch also will alow you to use button top batterys in standard mode with no kick without that ugly gap

by the way brass modded natural ............. a F-ing beast !!!! find a brass machine screw that threads into the delrin plastick 510 conector then get a long brass screw to replace the battery pin ... thread the plastic spacer for the screw if you want to get famcy like me and have an adjustable neg battery post to go along with your adjustable pos ! then take your switch appart and replace it with a brass rod and put it back together with the spring of your choise. i went stronger because i palm it.
then you will have the lowest damn voltege drop you can get with this thing and it will hit like a beast and be built like a tank !

im jealous of every1 with their knowledge of knowing which screws will fit and where to get tiny brass pins and stuff. grrr!! mine seems to hit just fine without modding it. But I do want to sand the pins and see if itll help.

lol lol lol yehhh i thought the same thing till i took a trip to lowes and home depo stuff with my mod in hand i furiously searched the hardware department of each store rummaging though all brass srews and pins till alass i found a screw to replace the one in the 510 conector no modding needed just unscrew the ss one out the plstic and screw the new one in and then i found a long machine screw brass flat top that would fit the battery pin if i just tapped it this gave ne an adjustable negitive battery post and brass pin for my switch to connect to the switch was easyer i just pulled it apart and handed the pieces to the guy in harware and said i need this ..... but in brass lol they had it mind blown!!!!! and end of story....


edit the only modding i realy did besides replacing stuff with brass was using a tap and die set tapp out the plstic washer the battery pin sets in so my neg post would be adjustable lol you dont even have to do that just find one the right size that slides through snugly

here is a 30 min mod that will help you to get rid of a lot of voltage drop and alow you to use an button top batterys without any gaps along with being able to run an 18650 flat top aw imr with the kick !!!!!!!!

step 1 : disasemble your mod then remove the plastic spacer. (i used the point on multi meter leed) then remove the neg battery pin from the spacer and put it back together to make it easyer to sand. now sand the neg pin down till its ALL brass useing 220 grit emery cloth or sand paper. now file the bottom of the pin where its slotted for a flathead make shure youleave just enough for a flathead this will enshure it still seats properly in the plastic cup in the bottom plate.




step 2 : now unthread the the screw from the 510 connector and sand down the face by placeing sand paper on a flat surface and rubbing it in circles face down till ALL the brass shows then flip it over and sand the end of the threaded part where it meets the atty.


now asemble it all back together. you should get no gaps now with button top batterys, and when you use the 18650 long tube and the 18500 tube you can fit the kick with an 18650 flat top with no gaps. if you have a small one take some more off the bottom of the neg terminal pin and try again it should all fit .... i have this same setup right in front of me now 18650 kicked with not a single gap fireing better than new !!!

i am in the midle of making an all brass switch for the natural useing only hardware store parts and simple tools ... when it is perfected i will post the easy solid brass switch mod ! it will cost around 5$ and some change in parts ...machine screws, washers, a spring, and nuts pluss a piece of small tubeing . i am trying every configuration to get it to look like it belongs on the mod and is pleasing to the eye.
