Has any one taken their vmax apart yet? Mine is broken no power to center pin. The battery voltage works/ up and down all the controls just no power to center pin. Hope to get lucky and just have wire to center pin off.

Looks like the head maybe just pressed on. Like with the indulgence. Looks like pop head off and controls just push out thru the atty connection end

I would also like to know the disassembly procedure for the vmax (other than dropping it :) )

I recall VAPNJ350 had his apart. Perhaps he would be kind enough to share how it's done? Would be
useful info for the thread in general. Thanks in advance VAPNJ!

It should still be in warranty, Smoktech offers a 6 month warranty on ALL VMAX's, so all vendors have to honor that same warranty. If you pop off the press-fittied top cap and you aren't able to fix it you should know that the vendor you bought it from reserves the right to refuse warranting it due to you opening it. I highly recommend sending it in for another thru warranty than try and fix it yourself. That's a pretty big 'roll-of-the-dice-' in my book. But I'm NOT a gamblin' man either. Please take this into consideration ALL OF YOU before attempting anything like this.

For those of us that are getting ours through a coop it will be valuable to know what works and doesn't, as I don't know that we can take advantage of any warranties. In the long run we'll need to know more anyway, at least those of us who like to tinker. It won't be long before somebody wants to take a newer version and crank it up to the hot level of the first releases.

I'm not recommending dropping them or running them over, but if you do we'll all be interested in their resurrection!

Head does indeed pop off easily....

Long screwdriver thru tube on tap on atty head

2 wires 1 grounded to atty head and 1 for the center pin

My center pin was indeed not connected

30 second solder job all fixed.

The electronics also pull out thru atty head ..

Real easy to work with.... just line up atty head and tap back on

We now have another vmax surgeon on staff! Does the press fitting hold ok after replacing the top?
How long for the scars to heal?

So glad to see you get it back up and running! Looks easy to fix for that issue.

I think you will find in most all cases of flooding carto in tank is due to a leaky upper inside o-ring, they are a metric size and can be found online at some of the vapor shops
That's the thing I also envisioned for this thread, not to only talk of issues but share really good setups. What atties / cartos / tanks work better than others, what to avoid, 'must have's' etc. I want to buy a bunch of stuff for the V but still holding out for some recommendations.

I'm mainly using the ST DCT's, both 4ml and 6.5. I think they look fabulous on the vmax. Imagine that. ST tanks on a ST device :) But I'm not totally happy with the ST 2.5 DC cartos presently in these tanks. I still seem to get a lot of flooding despite playing around with juice viscosity, vaping techniques, etc. I have to blow these cartos out at least once a day and it wastes a bit juice and is just plain messy. I think I'm going to try the new Boge XXL's next and slot them myself.

No o-rings on the ST DCT's. Just the rubber stoppers top / bottom.

Fuzzi,
If you look real closely their is a small O-ring just inside both caps top and bottom. They get a little mangled here and there everytime you slide a carto upwards in there tanks the sharp edge of the carto can cut the O-rings making them loose a good complete seal, which in turn can create flooding in cartos. Whether or not this is your issue I can't say without it being in front of me for inspection under my led lighted magnifier. Here's a tip for preventing this situation from happening : When you slide the carto up thru the tank, before you do it put the white rubber top cap back into the carto leaving it sticking out a bit, about 2-3mm, it keeps the sharp edge of the carto from catching on the O-rings and makes it's much easier also. Crystal clear Vaping sells the O-rings for the inner for the 3.4mL & 6 mL tanks. Also the punched hole size diameter has a impact on this issue also, if the hole is too large for thinner juice it will flood. With the ST pre-punched cartos if you use a 50% PG or higher the hole should be fine, for 60% VG or higher you might need to add a "little" diameter to the hole. Me personally, I put a small hole at the top, right under the top cap when assembled to feed the top coil. I try to put it in a place that when I tilt my PV back at the perfect angle to take a drag the top hole is covered with juice everytime. It takes a bit of pre-mapping out but works very well. Hope this helps, if you guys have any questions just let me know, be glad to help, .................J

I've thought about the higher holes for the top coil myself, but I keep thinking that if my tank's less than half full and the top hole doesn't get liquid that it'll suck air and reduce how much liquid gets pulled in through the bottom hole. I don't want to return to the CE2 scenario where I have to tip it up to feed it. I'm not talkin' from experience as I curently use Boge single coils in a tank, but I want to crank up my dual coils in a Liquinator. Sorry to go a bit off topic but I'm about to get out the Dremel and slice a couple!
