OK, I'm in on the VMax too. Based on the info here, if I ordered from CCV with the packaged batts, I'm good to go, right?

Sorry, a bit confused about it all.
Yes you are good to go as long as you got a charger for the 18350 batts, insert the first batt into the vmax, clip the magnet onto the positive post of the second batt and insert that onto the vmax...good to go!!

Awesome, thanks for the response. I have a basic TRustfire 001 - read in another thread it will work.

The trustfire will work but I want to inform you some tr-001 do overcharge IMR type batteries, and thats all you will need to use in the VMAX. I know quite a few people who this happened to including myself. It charged mine to 4.56 volts. NOT GOOD. It destroyed my 18650 IMR's. These high drain type cells should NEVER be charged past 4.21 volts, 4.22 at the absolute most. Doesn't seem like much but as soon as that 4.21 goes to 4.25 your IMR cell is now damaged internally and won't last near as long as it did before not to mention the amperage output is decreased(very bad). I always recommend the Ultrafire WF-188 because of it's switchable options that are just like the Pila charger but withput the $44-52.oo price tag, their like $16-20 bucks, and they charge 3.0 & 3.7 volt batteries at a 300mAh or 650mAh rate by slider switch. BUT this is my opinion, traet it as such, I'm a safer than sorry kinda guy. Take care all.........J

Thats a good point vapnj, I am lucky with mine as it hits 4.205 on both batts using a quality meter to check it but do check with a meter for sure Swigger14 to be safe as you just can't rely on cheap chargers without doing so!

Yeah based on what vapnj said earlier in the thread I went and ordered the ultrafire 188 at SuperT. Was like $18 shipped. Im slacking on buying a meter to check batteries. Ill get there but Im trusting advice that it wont overcharge them.

Learning how to use a meter and knowing what Im looking for is just more than I wanna tackle right now. I need a break. I feel like I been researching VV apv's for weeks. Especially after the whole LT thing.

CCV made it right tho and Im glad to have a vmax, even before it arrives based on everything Ive read.

Alright, I'm sure it's been covered before, but the 5 amp limit on these things is a bit of a blessing and a curse. Today I got home from a nice little bicycle ride. I had purchased some new juice, and had all my tanks sitting of the coffee table. I knew what was in all of them except one so without thinking I screwed it onto the vmax and took a big rip off of it. Well as it turns out, I had a LR carto in that tank. I took a blast of peach frost with my vmax set at 5.2 volts on a LR carto. Needles to say I gagged a bit and tasted some serious burnt, melty carto filler. Good lord, it was awful. That carto lives in the trash now.

Hey partner, did you get the SS Vmax from CCV ? Also everyone who I Recommended that charger to has reported back that it charges their IMR's perfect everytime to 4.21V, you should be very happy with it, if you have any questions about the selectable switch features on the sides of it when you get it just PM me and I'll fill you in and help you. Also after you have your VMAX you can check the voltage of your batteries by going to menu 4 on it. .....................................J

Alright folks.....Their were some members inquiring about the SS VMAX's weight. Well here's some specs for you all.

VMAX'S WEIGHT with Batteries :
(18350 E'fest Flat top) Copper/Brass = 4.3 oz.
Stainless Steel = 3.9 oz.

VMAX's WEIGHT without Batteries:
Copper/Brass = 2.8 oz.
Stainless Steel = 2.6 oz.

From what I can tell they ARE polished Stainless Steel NOT chrome dipped Steel. The buttons are a "frosted clear" acrylic button that really shows off the blue led. The dimpled/dotted top and bottom cap are factual and look GREAT. Other than that everything is the same, I think I've covered everything that was asked in previous posts, if not just ask and I'll do my to get the information to you. .....I'll post some pics later tonight. Take care everyone ......J

Hey congrats on the SSV J!
What are the bottom cap threads like?
Do the Efests fit without issues?
Any noticeable performance difference vs. prior versions?

Thanks!

Im doing a bunch a discharge tests on the E'fest side by side to the AW 18350 at 2,3,4,5,& 10 AMPS. I did a quick side by side at 2 amps and the E'fest is dead even. The only thing that will show they are head to head is 5 amps and up. As far as performance, 1st impression, dead even and exact same, they did not do ANY changes to the chipset in the VMAX SS. And the person spreading it around saying the SS has a blue display......stop getting peoples hopes up and DO NOT post if your information has even a shed of doubt. Thats more than half the problem with ecf and newbs getting the wrong information....more times than not it comes from someone so bored they just start posting wrong information for the mere fact of talking out of their A55. Sorry folks , it had to be said. Only thing as far as the bottom cap goes, needs noalox, but most SS threads do. But the threads are great on my unit. The E'fest batteries are the BEST fitment I've found so far out of the 18 different batteries I've tested and tried. They measure 43.17 on the micrometer. Nipple top Efest are on the way to the U.S. as we speak or type. Soon to be at a popular vendor. I don't think we'll have to worry or even ask from here out about any chipset modifications to the VMAX, the latest version after testing shows the most stability, and consistency out of all that have past thru my hands and been hooked up to the LeCroy 312-A Oscilloscope. Basically all Smoktech did was instead of letting the carto/atty see the max battery voltage for those miliseconds while firing, they dropped and regulated the maximum voltage it sees now to 1.78 volts less. So before, if the batteries were at 8.2 volts, when you pushed the fire button, in those miliseconds it would top out at 8.2v dropping down to 3.8v.....now same senerio, new PWM setting, it tops out at 6.42V, may seem like a lot but all in all it is much better , more stable, more consistent, but with that same feeling of .....WOW this thing is different than ANY other device I've ever used or have. This was a rushed explanation, sorry if some of you are lost or didn't quite understand what I was trying to explain. Anyway, hopefully tomorrow I'll be done with the battery side by side and post my findings. Take care everyone. ......J

It was a quality explanation, as usual J, thank you. I can't wait to get one!!!
