Quick question for those using the DCT and 801 fusions.... Is the dct 3.5ml tank with stainless steel end caps ok to use with those or does it have to be the 6ml dct?
The Smoktech 3.5 slim DCT's are the ones on my VMAX's in my avatar!

Yeah buddy, looks like we are all on the same page with the ohm rating. I wrapped a 4/5 wick with the 32awg kanthal and got a 2.3ohm coil that appears to have no hot spots now, I've been vaping it since last night and it is good. I do find that I need to pull a few times at a 2oclock angle to get the vapor to really take off but once it's warmed up it vapes good. It is quite airy so thats a learning curve as well but I like to draw and inhale then draw and inhale in 1 toot so to speak and it gives a good amount of vapor and flavor this way. I just cut one of the mesh sheets in half making a 3.5cm x 5cm wick and folded the edge over like show in Jims video. I found that by using the ciggy paper it helped me to lift the wick a bit when placing it in the wicking hole so not to touch the bottom of the did and short out. I made my coil and at the top brass nut I ended up doing a full wrap around the brass post to overlap the kanthal then snugged it tight with the nut, I was getting a hot spot there until I did this creating a bit of a gap where the 2 nuts meet and the hot spot disapeared. Well thats the extent of it and maybe I got really lucky but 1 coil and I'm vaping away with no problems and a good amount of flavor and vapor now that I have vaped 3/4 of a tanks worth.Well FINALLY !!!!!!!! My DiD has FLAVOR !!!!! Thick Thick Vapor , Perfect TH, And a very nice draw to it. I do think I'm going to find a piece of PTFE tubing to fit the wick hole snug and maybe make a disk to cover the bottom plate of the tank to cut down and completely eliminate any way of shorts from happening in those 2 areas. So as of now it's working awesome with 4 coils @ 2.4Ω on the VMAX's @ 3.6V and the NEW Chrome 4 amp LT V2 @ 3.9V..... and I have to say this new LT is really really nice, Im blown away by the quality and the power this unit makes, highly impressed, I was expecting garbage. Anyway the "DiD" is "Doing" GREAT on the VMAX's !!!!!!! Take care ALL ,.....J
Oh Yeah........
HAPPY 4TH EVERYONE.....
BE SAFE OUT THERE !!!!!
I will let you know that when puching holes in the Fusions, will have a very tight fit when slipping the polished aluminum tank caps on! Just a heads up!Ty, sir. I know Ive seen em. Was just wondering if the SS top and bottom cap dcts also worked with the fusions. Thanks!
I will post pics. of a 5 hole puch pattern when I get chance! It will work out just fine with the blend mix you use! Thanks, ordered some so i imagine they will get here in several days. Figured Id try it out vs the novas Im using. Im sure they are as good as you all say so I guess I cant lose either way. My only concern is it tasting like carto filler but we shall see.
Any tips on punching holes? I dont have a carto punch and not planning to invest in one unless I like the setup. Is there a painless way to make some extra holes?
All my juice is 75%- 80%Vg.
Anybody ever notice that you can hear the circuitry in the VMax when taking a toke....it's not just the sound of the LED lights, it's a deep sound coming from within, kinda like a deep buzzing sound. I think it's the beast withinor it could be my brain from the massive amount of vapor I'm inhaling non stop.

So I get a I4 charger in the mail yesterday! I throw 4 brand new efest batteries on it and wait. A short time later they are done. With out thinking I grab them off the charger then start testing voltage on them. 4.08, 4.21, 4.20 and 4.19. WHATS up with the 4.08? I wish I would have payed attention to which slot it came out of. So I throw them all back on the charger and the 4.21 is done right a way. the 4.2 and 4.19 are done a short time later, but the 4.08 takes a while. So before I go to bed I see they are all done and I just unplug the charger. This morning I test them all. 4.19 and 4.18s. (I figure after setting all night a little drop is normal). Is 4.08 in the acceptable range for being fully charged? Just shows to check your batteries after they are done!
Anyone purchasing the i4 charger PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THE DIRECTIONS....it will save you questions and a headache in some cases. Always remember also with new batteries ""SOMETIMES" the 1st few charges may or may NOT charge up fully to max charge voltage. Doesn't mean their is anything wrong with the charger or the batteries......it's just how it works sometimes.
Well thanks to the advice of you and J I'm getting there though as I replied in the did thread I popped a coil after work today but it was my own fault and I was mucking with the coil on a dry tank. Here are some pictures and what I am doing for round 2, this worked great. I found the top 2 nuts on the did to be more of a bother than good, everytime I tighten the nuts it would screw up my coil or cause the second coil down to short on the nut so off they went. I found it way easier to wrap and finish the coil like this, way faster too with all the clearance in the world. This coil ohms at 2.5ohms, and when I did the dry burn only the coils themselves lit perfectly even burning off the cig paper very quickly, I had the v2 vmax set to 4v and that is where I left it after the dry burn.Sounds like you're already an old pro at this kurtus, congrats man. I do the same thing and tilt/saturate the wick from time to time. I've heard if you take the filling screw out it saturates even better and flavour/vapour improve. Haven't felt the need to try it yet.
Please post pics of your SS vmax with the DID.
Im looking right at the problem and why you keep poppin coils martin. The bottom wire needs to go on the other side of the coil at the base. Wrap your wire clockwise. The bottom wire coming off the ground screw should run to the left side of the wick right between the bottom brass stationary nut (very bottom 1) and the wick. This creates the shortest distance between 2 points, which is what you want. The top is just as important. After the coil is done then the wire should wrap around the center brass + post clockwise also. I know it seems backwards on the top but according to JIM (the inventor) this is correct. Since I did it this way my ohms are flawless and DO NOT fluctuate and I haven't had a hot spot yet. Good luck

Don't give up on the DID. It will come. When you set it up perfectly, as I have now done, you will know it as the flavour and vapour will 'pop' and you will not be able to hold back a smile. Suggest a 5-wrap 2.2-2.4ohm coil for the vmax at 3.4-3.8v.
Hint: After setup, if you're unable to take the wick out of the coil fairly easily and without it binding anywhere, and replace it just as easily, both without disturbing the positioning of the coils, you likely don't have it set up right.
