The 510 shorty also lets me get a better grip on Max when carrying around at work. I simply grip it as you normally would but am able to place my index finger between tube and tank. I don't wish to ever drop my mod on concrete especially.
I ordered the vmax with a 30ml bottle of ry4. For $10 extra not a bad deal. You can buy it without the juice if you want.

VAPNJ350 , I made a post in Vmax Elite in down time section about Vmax consuming battery power for settings memory, do you think that I am correct on that?

Appreciate the kind words Freddie, but the regular contributors who made this thread grow share far more credit than me.
Now to find some efficient way of starting subtopics and linking to all the relevant info on this thread. I had envisioned subtopics like: Pics, vmax/zmax batteries 101, good/bad heads, vmax/zmax deals, etc., etc. There's so much useful info just buried in this massive thread, it would be nice to organize it in some way, particularly for the new people that drop in.
In the interim, please everyone, feel free to start your own vmax/zmax subtopic in our new home, as warranted and appropriate. It's why it was built.

Gettin a lil ahead of the situation ya think ? Usually you wait till the mod is atleast released to the public for resale. lol . Kinda beat me to it. I was actually going to start a ZMAX thread with all the good nuts and bolts of it with pics when I got the word they were in flight headed this way to the vendor. Post a link to the VMAX subforum and the ZMAX thread and I'll get some info with pics on it. Take care everyone.
Very GOOD idea bro! I think first and foremost is to post: What You Need To Know About the VMAX! It giving a full breakdown of the device: Menu Options, Amperage Output, Battery Specs. and Recommendations, Supplier Links to Purchase, ETC...! Basically what you stated...Hahaha...LOL!

ARGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!! just got both my orders in - a sweet sweet black chrome vmax and vivi nova tank. Other envelope had my Ultra Fire WF-188 charger BUT...the four AW IMR batteries that were on the shipping order were NOT IN THE ENVELOPE!!!! I've got this kick ... new mod and no way to use it!!! 
so, have to make a few phone calls and see what the hell happened...

Got my SS Vmax from CCV today and let me tell you this thing hits a lot harder than my YJ lava tube!!!!
Just want to double check which version of the max I have here (no batteries yet) - vendor I ordered from called it a Rev4 (gunmetal) - vmax box says black chrome, it has "lightning" bolts instead of dimples on top and bottom caps, instruction leaflet says it defaults to 5v and calls it an itube (are these just generic instructions they haven't bothered to change yet?) thanks in advance
I'm pretty sure you got the latest version. Despite the instructions I'll bet it defaults to 3v hence it's the latest vmax chip.
that's what I'm hoping - I thought i had read somewhere that the new ones had dimples instead of the lighting bolts (too many pages to go back and re-read lol) - just trying to find a local supply for a set of batteries, it's gonna take a few days for the vendor to re-send some
