Is anyone familiar with the latest VMax with the 8 function menu, the eighth function being "8. RMS Function". I'm in a Coop for one and I'm not sure what it is. The best I can figure the "8. RMS Function" helps to keep the output voltage closer to what the screen setting is, but that's just a guess. SMOK ZMAX 18650 Mod [SMOK002] - US$125.00 :

Hi Errol,
It's a Zmax, version 2. Currently the Zmax numbers, like a lot of vv devices, are not accurate. That's why these devices seem to hit harder. You set it at, say 5v, but it is really giving you say, 6v.

RMS - root mean square - is a more accurate way of measuring the voltage. So if the RMS works, you should be able to read a more accurate voltage output. e.g. you set it at 5v but it is hitting harder than that. You look at the RMS menu and it tells you 6v. So that's what you are really getting - 6v, not 5v you set it at.

Since we haven't seen the version 2 Zmax yet we can't say how accurate the RMS will be. Also it is probably just a readout - not something you can program in. i.e. it will tell you 6v, but I don't think you can use it to accurately set the mod for 6v. Be nice if you can do that - but I think it will probably be just a readout function.

I have it on pretty high authority that it is in fact a function and not just a readout. . . . .

Yes. I use a chid (chinese mini did clone). I guess I'll stop using rba on my vmax.

is it alpha genz ?

It all depends on you. Also depends on the head you have in your vivi. Start with fresh batts and at 3.0V and work your way to the sweetspot. I use a 2.8 Ohm, self wicked, and usually use it at 3,5V (comes out at about 4-4.3V "real" voltage).

Don't be afraid, just start at 3.0V and adjust as you like it better or worse...... Afterall it is a VV device.

Good luck
I haven't found anything yet that I can go past 4v with and it not be too much. I'm using 3v on almost eveything I have right now. Course, I don't have any really high ohm stuff since I've just got into VV in the past few months.

me too, only use it at 3.0v.
so what to use with vmax for high voltage like 4-6.0v ? rba ?

I believe the vmax fires at a certain voltage for a % of said time to bring an ave voltage to what you it to ie 3 volt setting would be 50 % of the time 4 volts 66%

Yes, that's the Pulse Width Modulation.

2 x 4.1 volt Batteries = 8.2 Volt

Set @ 3 volts it should fire about 37,5% at a certain frequency.

6 volts means each battery is only 3 volts, it's time to recharge. Mine usually blinks at 6.2 volts. From reading earlier posts the pulse is 1.7 volts below yhe total voltage of both batteries togeather. I'm still new to my vmax but I've read all the posts in this thread, so I could be wrong.
