... it SHOULD be safe to make a paper sleeve. But I would definitely avoid using any kind of metallic decorative paper .. that MIGHT cause a short (not sure how that would happen ... but, it FEELS like asking for trouble).

There really isn't that much of a risk of shorting the battery if you're using something metallic. You don't need to cover the whole battery, just about an inch of it, so whatever you use to wrap the battery with shouldn't be close enough to the ends of the battery for it to be an issue.
After about a month of heavy use with my v2 zmax have run into a few issues, all dealing with build quality. The screen cover is cracked for one. This happened when it fell over on the table it was sitting on. The pcb has gotten loose inside it, from time to time the screen cover starts to pop out a bit, and the button becomes wobbly. It still works, but the long durability doesn't look good...
Is under warranty Ms. Kiwivap, thinking of sending it back. Bought it to truly put it through the wringer to test it's durability though (along with everything else). It's my back-up back-up mod, so if it dies no real biggy...
OK just got the zmax today had a lavatube of all my attys and a DC tank that fit the lava tube fine only 1 a joye fits the zmax
The others just are to small like the zmax has a larger opening or something can't figure it out. All fit the lava tube even the joye
These were standard 510. From various vendors
Anybody know why this is ?.
Something to think about for all you rebuildable users. The center post of the zmax seems to be made of a soft metal. My Phoenix clone is tearing it up, so a 510 to 510 adapter is something you guys might want to consider.
