Ya know when we started this whole Vmax thread months ago the 1 thing I kept recommending for use with the Vmax, and now Zmax, was the 3Ω 801 Fusions. Very nice to see that people are still finding out about them and just how good they really are. 510's....NO MORE, Fusions all they way. And yes.....they are that good.

Boges or Ikenvapes?

I own the Trustfire TR-003P4 which is also supposed to be a pretty decent charger (great reviews) but it just so happens mine charges them to 4.26, as some of them have are known to do. This will indeed shorten the life of the cells. I've been putting off replacing it, hoping to find a decent deal on an i4 locally with shipping charges that are not obscene.

4 of my AW18350's appear to have lost about 30% of their discharge time since new, having used and charged them daily for approximately 4 months. For what they cost I'm not too concerned but yes, I really should get another charger.

On my TR-003P4 I find that slot 1 & 2 (furthest away from the lid hinge) charge to 4.23v, slot 3 charges to 4.22v and slot 4 (closest to the hinge) to 4.21v.

My i4 cranked out (left to right, using 18650 IMRs) 4.22v, 4.215v, 4.215v, 4,21v. Checked w/ Extech MN36 meter (4.215 interpolated from bouncing back and forth between 4.21 and 4.22, only reads 3 digits to the right under 4.00v)

I've got my hobby charger calibrated to do 4.21v. Hmmm, using more IMRs these days. Think I'll tweak that down a bit.

My i4 seems to crank out 4.20v any slot but checking that now.

Ya skip, based on J's earlier suggestion I've tried all manner of slot combinations including 1+3, 2+4, etc. All slots irrespective of how many batteries are in it and despite various slot combos result in 4.25 or 4.26. My 18650's just arrived and are now charged. 4.24 on one and 4.25 on the other. It's calibrated too high.

Well it was worth a shot. Keep it for an ICR only charger as they don't seem to mind 4.25v like IMRs do.

Ok just fired up the new SS Z and can confirm J's initial impressions. This is all seat of the pants mind you but a comparison of my 18650 equipped Z as against my v2 V (with stacked 18350's) reveals a milder vape in the 3-4v range on the Z. I might suggest there is approximately a 25% difference in this range. The Z looks and feels like an updated V so needless to say...it vapes great!

Assuming you get a good one that lasts and at a good price, I can't see how anyone would be disappointed with this device. My V1, V2 and Z trio is now complete. Thanks again Dusty for ordering an extra one for me.

Boges or Ikenvapes?

Same thing.

But BOGES ofcourse !! Man Ikenvape swears they don't sell Boge Fusions. I call BS !!! I have both.....used both.....taken both apart and inspected thoroughly under 50x's mag. THEY ARE THE SAME CARTO!!!!!! No wait....the ONLY difference between to 2 are Boges are plain Jane Black or SS with no logo....and Ikenvape has their name ALL over the box and where ever else they can fit it. Nothing against Ikenvape....Love their atty's (when I used atty's) but c'mon....Don't front. I might of been born at night....BUT NOT LAST NIGHT !!

I meant to post a update on that a while ago Fuzzi. You are correct. Slots DO NOT matter with the i-4 as long as your charging 3.7v batts. ONLY when your charging 1.2v batts do you have to use 1+3 or 2+4 slots. It's only because it has to regulate a much lower amperage for the smaller lower volt batts in order not to burn the cell or over charge it to quickly.

So to update and elaborate ....When charging 1.2v Duracell or Energizer "rechargeable's" these are the cases where you are suppose to use 1+3 or 2+4 slots. When you do this the amperage is decreased in order to not overcharge the small cell. And you will notice recharging these 1.2v batts 'correctly' will take about 4-6 hours depending on the cell. My Energizer 2450maH rechargeable's take 4.5 hours to charge full from dead.

Please read back about 10 or 12 posts and you will see my first and updated impressions on it from last night and this morning. There are also a few more "feedback" posts further back in the thread.

I know i read them all that was more geared towards the shy people that have not posted yet

Another charger to look into is the xtar sp2. On avg about $11 cheaper than the pila (which have to agree is the best non-hobby charger on the market), uses true cc/cv and has the ability to select to use different amperages for different sized batts. You'll need spacers for 18350 batts, but the final charge a .5a is 4.19v and 4.18v on the one I've tested, seen reviews with the range being 4.15v-4.21v with imr's and the proper amperage selected. The only drawback for some is at higher amperage you'll get a lower final voltage. Using an 18650 efest imr 2000mah got a final voltage reading of 4.14v at 2a, 4.17v at 1a, and 4.21v a .5a on avg.

Yeah, but respected reviewer, provari owner...that ought to settle some arguments :)

SS ZMax has taken over my at-home vaping needs replacing my dual 18650 Shan Mod. I have my mini Provari to get to work and back & the full size Provari to use while at the office. They each have their own place and they shine at what they do.

I like Scott's videos, they are to the point and no BS. His review and rating should indeed add a lot of weight to the ZMax's credibility.
