I totally agree with one of your statements....buy one if you want one....your personal vape experience is all that matters....I find it very interesting that VPLive, reviews from Australia, reviews from those on this thread, reviews from the Gotvapes thread, and reviews from Germany are all saying the same thing. I'm not bashing the Zmax here, just continuing my research.....

If the Zmax works for you thats all that matters...it just won't work for me....

Concerning power output…
Just a full day of use with 2 – 3ohm RBAs. TH can be felt even at 3 watts. I have been on it between 4.5 – 8 watts, experiencing more layers of taste w my favorite liquids while still enjoying TH (on the provaris I am always between 7.5-9 watts)

Accuracy/flat output is a good thing, however it may not be the only game in town. Perhaps, sometimes step back a little, the world suddenly becomes wider before the eyes. :)

math,calculations,and then more math
it vapes great and lasts all day long
not a single missfire of the button 11days now,not a single glich

i find it hard for someone to own it and and dont like it,even those with provari(they just dont admit it)

I can ditto this with two days use on mine. It just works, looks great and I feel that it is solidly built. As far as I am concerned mine has fantastic fit and finish. No issues with lcd cover, etc. that others seem to be complain about. Maybe I got lucky and got one of the better units made?

I had enough wire wrapped around the positive post on my DID mini to add another coil changing it from 1.4 to 1.9 ohm, now I can use Zmax stacked on 3 volts setting and digging it. And if that was too hot I would simply use the single battery and if that didn't work out my trusty YJ 1.5 would come to the rescue.

Way more is correct.
@ Random85, does that mean that you have used it stacked?

Yeah I have...

Was using it with a single 18650 at first, and the 15 watt setting felt kinda low. Poppede in 2 18350 and it poppede my coil right away...

Threw a DCT on it and tried again, and there's a major difference between the 15 watt setting with 18650 and 15 watt with stacked 18350's (Im sure it isn't getting anywhere near 15 watts when using 18650)

I own a Provari, happy to admit that the Zmax is a good device!

It's just not the device I wanted it to be - wattage wise with the 18650's it's pretty decent although it's out by a bit. Voltage mode is still too mad for me but it does deliver the goods if you're into the hot stuff.

I dont know why u would need more power, hits just fine with an 18650, i set my zmax to 6.5 watts and hits just like my provari at 5 volts, one thing thats odd is that if i go to 7 or 8 watts it tastes burnt, im using boge 3 ohm cartos...i can set the provari to 6 volts and its great but 8 watts on zmax and burnt...still great mod

Not a fan of stacked batts

Zmax with 18650 and Boge 3ohm 801 Fusion's work just great @ 3 to 3.5 volts but my Smok DC's @ 2.5 ohm need the extra power of the stacked batteries and DC's are what I use most of the time

Here is some comprehensive numbers on the ZMAX for you, folks :) :

Smoktech ZMAX review and measurements

If you want to get the whole text, you might want to use Google translator on it, as it is in German.

But as far as the numbers is concerned - it's numbers, so no translation needed :).
Hi Folks,

the review from above link has been updated with tables showing the behavior on full vs. empty battery in both VV and VW mode (with 18350 or 18650 battery each).

Those with the hardware for tests (power):

I`d like to see a test with what you think are the best batts around vs crappy batteries, see if values are the same or what exactly.

Since the Smok things put out way more than its showing, maybe lesser batts would "help" somewhat...just an idea

IMHO, there is no reason or excuse to ever use "crappy" batteries. It is however, easy to turn down the power one or two notches to get by the turbo boosted devices.

Some folks are saying that they are waiting for Smoktech to make their mod so that when set to 3 volts it is 3 volts and 6 is 6 ect. When that happens that will be the day that I order my Provari because the wildly over powered aspect of it is why I like it so much. I don't consider it ruggedly built and would be terrified to drop it. Am I the only one who feels this way? I doubt it.

Maybe they should have said that it is a 4 volt to 7 volt mod then everybody would be happy.
