Right. It is a catastrophy.

But you are referring to 2x 18350 VW mode.

When you look at the numbers, you will find that VW mode with 1x 18650 battery is much more consistent.

It's certainly a good reason never to use the 18350 battery cap.
Why can they just produce an accurate device?

hum....all the data points me to the conclusion that the Zmax is not for me....just another "beta" unit for Americans to troubleshoot....reminds me of the CE, Ce2, Ce3,Ce4...etc...

Can ya vape with the Zmax,...yes
Is it accurate.... no
Does this matter.....to some No, others Yes....I'm in the Yes column....

I have the same question as Dirk: Why can they not produce an accurate device?

I'm in the No column...numbers mean nothing, it's all about the vape. Afterall we are using these to vape...not to solve a math equation.

I will use mine in VW mode. Does the accuracy bother me? No. I found where I like it. I have it set at 6.5P and that gets me around 10 watts where I like it. Don't consider the numbers exact settings but a sliding power meter and then it doesn't matter to people like me. If you want to use it in VV mode then that is another answer. I am sure v2, v3...v99 will get it more smoothed out.

Aight...it's not a dog pile is it? lmao
When I got my Zmax and had only the 18650 setup it was a lesser kind of vaping experience as I am use to using my "Beast" , after getting the extended cap and using 18350's X2 all is well. Don't get me wrong, it works real good with the single battery but my preferred device is a 2.5 ohm DC tank and I use it with 5 volt "setting" on Vmax and with the single battery in Zmax I would be looking for 7 volts on it as 6 was less than I was used to. @ 5volts both Z and V w/18350's seem to be about the same power. I LIKE it.

I figure I'll buy a steel if Smok ever decide to produce a device that actually warrants a voltage display and not just pretty lights. I liked it initially but I don't use it anymore, it's a great "beast" vape PV - I prefer a "fairy" vape - don't get me wrong, I've got two children:)

I spent an arm and a leg on my Provari - I have to use it!

What kind of battery life are you guys getting in 18650 mode? I can imagine you guys are getting a day or more.

Over a day - it's battery life is a good as the Provari.
Considering most people are using it at really high voltage, it's pretty amazing.

At the same time it's a pity some folks don't know they're using it at a really high voltage;)
It's solid and it works, can't fault it in that respect.

I love my Provari for vaping cartos and dripping. I like the accuracy and smooth even power for that. My Vmax is for powering my DID which draws a lot of amps. I like the raw Max power on RBA's. I will get the R2 Zmax for the high amps and 18650 battery life to run my DID. When I run the DID on the Provari Mini I get 2 hours of battery life when I usually get 10+ with cartos. The Zmax R2 will be a welcome addition to my collection.
