not in the REAL world, Wish it was, my work would be a LOT easier, no need for encoders, let’s just agree that V Average is wrong.

Here’s a link to a “fellow Penguin” who did a GREAT review and goes very deep into it. He ends up measuring duty cycle and peak to calculate Vrms for his tests because his interments won’t measure Vrms because they can’t do it on a non sinusoidal waveform.

Well I got a zmax to have a play with yesterday, been busy today, it looks to me that it does not ever go below 32.7% duty cycle.

With dual batterys .. fully charged, zmax set to 3W, 2ohm carto .. calculated power is over 9W.
Not tried it yet, but if the peak voltage holds up on 1.5ohm .. it will be 11W..

1) nice clean traces in the pic :)
2) Feel up to redoing this with the single 18650 IMR?

Thanx much, Skip

the other 2 pictures in that folder are one with the 18650, i make it about 5.5W from memory (same 3W setting) and with dual batterys but before being topped up to full charge.
That test photographed is about as bad as it gets for this device, lowish ohms, minimum watts and dual fully charged batterys.
My week old F16 carto I have been using hassle free on the provari for a week at up to 4.5v (10W roughly) placed on zmax set to 6W .. burnt first puff. its useable set to 3W though .. just.

Thank you.
Great in depth review.
All the tech stuff is pretty heavy, although very well explained, but for the me the temp test says it all.
Watts=heat, and this is what vaporizers or burns our juice.
I have a SS Zmax and love it,
It's an unruly child that you can't help but love once you get to know it.

Heavy?....is there something wrong with the earth's gravitational pull?..

You guys see this yet? Madvapes has listed a clear plastic PV that they claim has the same circuit board as the ZMax. I personally would not want a clear tube where I can see the battery, but this might appeal to a lot of people. They are going to sell them for just over $80.

I was impressed with how he used the heat produced by timed firing to compare the output of a lot of different VV devices set the same. Of course the ZMAX got the hottest.

"The last test I did involved a temperature probe. I set all devices to 3.3V and pressed the button for a count of 5. I then read the value that was held on the screen of the multimeter. The probe was positioned just under the coil on a phoenix rebuildable.

eGo Twist = 267F
Kick on lowest setting = 260F
YoungJune Mini LavaTube = 323F
ZMax = 351F"

The more you wait ...the better you enjoy it mate....:)

It's a great VV MOD

Well if you have a v4 then you can wait for a few more revisions of te ZMAX ...it's a great mod but the v4 is aswell "just VW is missing".

And I got mine from watching your review on the MAX....thanks again ..super mod
