Kudos to Varicool.
I've posted a thread with a complete in depth review of the smokbox.
You'll also find two Videos that demonstrate how rock solid the voltage is on this unit.
Link to thread is below.

Thanks for a great review Tom! Man you really put that unit to the test, :). I'm glad you chose our carefully crafted, hand made device and appreciate it's quality build. This sort of feedback makes me happy!

A 40 second inhale? Wow. Just wow. (both on the unit, and on your lung capacity) :D

I did cheat at exactly 20 seconds I exhaled, while still keeping the button depressed so it was only Two 20 second vapes. The unit was firing for 40 seconds and cool to the touch. So my lung capacity isn't that great. But the Varicool Smokbox rocks.

Sometimes I just like to keep that button pressed and the 10-15 second cutoff is annoying when it stops me.

Just because my Auto will go 90MPH doesn't mean that I have to go 90MPH but I like knowing I can do it.

By gosh though, If I want to take a 40 second vape, I should have the right to!!!! No Nansy Pansy companies should limit my length of vape. It's unvapastutional!!

I emailed Rob and it turns out that the regulation is so efficient that the box never heats up. . I may redo that vape test with a thermometer to demonstrate how the box stays totally cool. I like scientific proof nothing left to subjectivity.

If you see an article in the Southern California papers about a E-Cig Smoker collapsing from Nicotine Overdose, you'll be able to say " I know that guy" I've been doing these tests with 40mg E-liquid.

I think I'm going to make a weaker liquid for the next round. Sigh...

No doubt! What do you have screwed into that box? I've only used cartomizers, and I can't imagine how hot one of those would get after 40 seconds of firing!
Vivi Nova 2.4ohm, The Clearomizer was cool because the Varicool Technology used in the unit is 95% efficient and doesn't create and transfer heat to the Clearomizer. When I get my Provari back I'll do 4 10 second blasts to = the 40 seconds with a thermometer to compare and show the difference scientifically.

It's official the Smokbox Varicool VV works great with 1.5 Ohm Dual Coil Cartomizers. You can read the results of my testing on my thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...aricool-custom-box-mod-made-u-s-review-2.html

It's official the AW IMR 14500 Battery doesn't perform much better and has much lesser vaping time than the Trustfire Flame on the Smokbox Varicool VV
A complete report about the results can be found

My Testing is done.
I've torture tested the Smoktek Smokbox Varicool VV this week. Nothing has been left to conjecture. Testing backed up all the statements I'm making below.

It's passed all tests with flying colors. This is the only Mod that I've ever bought that is as good as the Provari. Yes it lacks some of the bells and whistles and the outside shell is not as sturdy. It also doesn't look pretty.

But on the other hand the electronics are Rock Solid, Ergonomically it's extremely comfortable. It's small and compact. It's simple to use. It offeres a true stealth vape as it fits inside your hand and has no lights (Stealth Version).

The voltage regulation is flawless. It Drives any normal Cartomizer or Clearomizer to the max, including Dual Coil 1.5 Ohm. Operates excellently with economical batteries. In addition the battery life is great. Even the Heaviest Vaper should get 24 Hours out of this Puppy

A resounding Two Thumbs up for the Varicool vv Mod.

Now if you only made a wood version sigh...

Rob thanks for sending me the Spec Sheet on the Adjustable Output 3-Amp Converter contained in the Smokbox Varicool VV 3 Amp unit. It makes me feel very safe about using your unit.

Also I appreciated that you confirming that the Varicool vv is using a stacked battery technology. it explains why the unit is performing so well.

The Spec Sheet clarified why I'm getting great results with cheap protected batteries. Turns out that the Converter takes a input of 1.34 - 2.26 Amps and converts it to an output of 3 Amps. Because the maximum Amperage the converter will pull from the battery is 2.26 it never trips the battery protection. (Protected batteries normally shut down around 2.5Amps)

That's why two cheap Trustfire Protected Battery Performs as well as two AW IMR in this unit. The greater Amperage of the AW is never used, so it just comes down to mah.

The stacking techology of the batteries means that instead of a boosting system like the Provari , you have a regulator pulling the correct voltage, with plenty to spare. This may be the reason why the system runs so cool and is so efficient and mantains rock solid voltage. It's much easier and possibly more stable to pull exact voltage from a High voltage source than to take low voltage and boost it.

Now that I know the maximum the chip will pull is 2.26V I feel very safe using this E-Cig with protected batteries. I know that my battery is not beeing overtaxed and I'm not dependent on the Battery Protection. The chip limits the unit to pulling an amount that is within the tolerance of a protected battery.

You see a boring black battery box doesn't have to remain a boring black battery box.

Well don't laugh too hard at me. I know it's not perfect but it's special because no one has one exactly like it. (Laughing)
My Mother in law painted the box with metallic Blue and Metalic Silver.

Then my 11 year old painted good luck indian symbols.
All that's left is to put on the Matte finish to protect it.

now it is time to redo those tests with the BEAST Varicool vv. I have the 3 amp version now for 8 months looks ugly as sin. I have it taped up cause the battery back is all but shattered to pieces but the unit has caused me no problems works flawless still
Hit me up in the comments of your next order and I'll toss in a cover for ya. :) Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks man I should be placing one by the end of the week.. I still wished you would have opened that retail location would have been so sweet to just come on down whenever I needed something

Your cover was included in your order, I hope it fits! We've had a few different case styles, let me know if it doesn't fit. Look for a retail outlet in the near future, we're working out the logistics now.
