Is that a jump of joy... or the PCP taking the in-thought-suggested flying leap???

almost lunch time.....

Bear, that's a decent argument for avoiding doctors...

Which one?!?! It goes on...

PCP Visit Comment #4

So, the PA starts asking a few questions. One was "What prescription drugs are you taking?" My answer was "What does my chart say?"

No, I mean, really.

Any OTHER doctor (for whatever reason) I may see will share info with PCP... I believe they HAVE TO. She (PA) even had the pain med and antibiotic from the oral surgeon not 2 weeks ago. It's ALL THERE. Do not ASK ME a question with an obvious answer. That kind of stuff just drives me wild.

PCP Visit Comment #5

"The Physical"

Doc decides it's time to schedule 5-year physical because I was due last year. Has on his record it was 31mar08.
Ummm... no. It was 2007, Mr. DoctorMan.
No... it was 2008, Mr. PatientMan.
No no no... 2007. (And now that I am home, I am looking RIGHT AT the take-home report. RIGHT AT IT!!! 02apr07. Hmph. Not even CLOSE to 31mar08.

So anyway... I was given a questionnaire to fill out and bring back at the physical.

I :censored: you not... here are a few of the questions:
...Do you wear helmets for sports and biking?
...Do you use a seatbelt?
...Do you have smoke detectors in your home?
...Do you have carbon monoxide detectors in your home?
...Are there firearms in your home?

I'll answer them... and add big red ???s next to each one indicating my wonderment.

Are there prescriptions to correct those problems?
Do doctors really need to get bogged down in that kind of trivia? Are they not overworked enough???
Will my insurance company see those answers and make a determination if I should be dropped as a "bad risk"???

I'm really lost as to why those questions are asked.

I won't get into all the other questions to which THEY ALREADY KNOW the answers. Dozens. I am NOT a new patient.

Wild, I am driven.

 Those sound like insurance company questions. Oh yeah...I hate it when I go to the Doc or Dentist and they want you to fill out the form with your basic name, address and chit on it. I tell them...nothing's changed. And then the goofy receptionist wants me to fill it out anyway and i tell her...you have the information...YOU fill it out. :D

YOU GO, Meggers.

They know before I even walk in that I am "difficult". When they USED TO take co-payments, I would hold back until AFTER I saw the doc "within 15 minutes" (or else I walked). But I do not have that power any more, apparently. Anybody with insurance is now billed. So now I have to figure out how to deal with unacceptable wait times. Any suggestions?

Their office rule is if you are more than 15 minutes late WITHOUT advance warning, you will be re-scheduled. It is my opinion that the same rule should apply for US waiting 15 minutes past our scheduled time with NO money exchange.

 I never have to wait cause...I have a tendency to ummmmm...entertain myself at the expense of others. They get me in and out as fast as possible. :D

If they attempt to bill after you have walked, give them the opportunity to remove it with the understanding that if they do not, they will be reported for insurance fraud ... I had to do that once.

I was in the waiting room for no less than 45 minutes at which time I was then moved to a 'holding cell' for another 45 minute wait. I finally had enough and walked out ... I could not believe they still tried to bill me! :glare:
