So Hus "felt like peanut butter" last week and went to the basement "pantry" to get a jar. He brought it up, opened it, and asked me if it smelled right. Yeah... guess it does. However, it did not TASTE all that great. Wonder why??? ...

You may ask: Why are there TWO jars???

GOOD QUESTION!!!

It is because it is IMPOSSIBLE for him to buy JUST ONE of ANYTHING (from the grocery or department stores). EVERYTHING comes home in duplicate OR triplicate. EVERYTHING.

... (Mustard seeds, by the way.) ...

I attempted to find the mustard seeds, but the container is no longer on the "spice rack". I can only assume it migrated into a kitchen cupboard, someplace, to be found only after it grows legs and starts a heartbeat.

But yeah... spice rack. Most people have one with a SINGLE ROW of bottles... to easily find what they need. Note the spice rack below. The bottom shelf is THREE DEEP. Those small jars on the middle shelf on the right are THREE DEEP. Note also the THREE bottles of onion powder, top row. There are also two dill weeds. Can you spot them?!?! If one digs deep enough, they WILL find two of just about everything... and each is opened.

i beat you, bear! i'm minus a curry powder circa 1993

Tibs...

From Wikipedia:
ZIP codes are a system of postal codes used by the United States Postal Service (USPS) since 1963. The term ZIP, an acronym for Zone Improvement Plan,

So, that container of mustard seed is pre-1963.

But, alas, since I am unable to find and photograph, your 1993 is the leader - so far. (But only on your word, mind you.)

I *know* I can beat that!!! Game on, baby!!!

ETA:
There are "Spice Time" brand bottles on that rack. I bought those around 1987 or 1988 at a NEISNER'S that was located in our now-hovel downtown shopping district. I'll see if there is a date on them.

... enough of the organizing ...

"Organizing" does not equal "reducing".

The garage:
Hus brought home 50 pounds of "Winter Melt" (by that I mean TWO 25-pound bags, see above). Hate to tell him... it's rock salt... which will NOT EVER be used on the asphalt walks or driveway. Maybe he can donate it to his church. It's now in six (6) 48 -ounce Maxwell House coffee containers for easier transport. (See how that gets rid of the big bags o' salt AND 6 cluttering containers??? Win!!)
