It specifically says "dry dead leaves".

I have WET non-crinkly leaves. And they will remain wet through the winter... snow and all, ya know.

When snow covers them during the winter, it promotes "snow mold" which WILL kill lawns (or affected spots).

That article is FAR from nation-wide good advice.

bear, does that mean it's best if I collect whatever leaves are in my yard and deposit them on top of what I want kilt...like all the weeds behind my garage?

and it looks like an indictment in ferguson - i don't believe they would be stupid enough to schedule the announcement for 9pm if it were otherwise

Well Kat, IDK if I want to go into it in that thread, but I'll give some possible answers here where it's "safe"...because I don't use a PT2.

Nonetheless, I know about the "toasted insulator" issue. So:

1) Assuming single-coil, you can double up the amount of wire where it meets the insulator. Basically you have to double over the "ends" and then twist them around themselves. This gives twice the conductor material where it meets the insulator...thus cooler there. Of course, you need to test the resistance and compensate and/or adjust voltage accordingly. Trim everything well so there's no shorts.

2) You can make a three-prong dual coil wire. The center conductor is doubled over and twisted and runs down the center. The two "legs" are coils and split off and go down each side (ground). They can be doubled and twisted too. Think of a letter "M. You take care to make sure the resistance is the same on each side. Sometimes you can get away with less watts-per-leg using the dual-coil-cooler-vape approach. Trim everything well so there's no shorts.

Both techniques require more skill and attention than "just plain coil" methods. Mostly, I've not had issues with burnt insulators unless I over powered stuff...cloud chasers should not be using stuff with rubber grommets.

I'm not reading back--or watching Bear's videos.

Flyby--time to start cleaning the house for the holidays.

I posted this inquiry in another thread--if any of you modders have an opinion, I'd very much appreciate your help:

Enjoy your evening and TTNF. :)

catt should be able to offer some insights - i've never tried rebuilding a coil in my protank minis. got 2 here still brand new  amazing what you find when you're searching for a camera
