You put your camera in strange places.
Both techniques require more skill and attention than "just plain coil" methods. Mostly, I've not had issues with burnt insulators unless I over powered stuff...cloud chasers should not be using stuff with rubber grommets.
P.S. Others have made a "wire welder" for spot welding NR wire with kanthal. I don't recommend that unless you're real sure you know what you are doing...just buy the NR/R wire. Or use the doubled-over method.
I have no idea what I'm doing.![]()
That I don't believe.
However, the general rule is...meh...on the grommets. Don't over-watt them.![]()
I know some stuff theoretically, but I never rebuilt anything-yet. But I'm tempted. P.P.S.
I've started to "just buy" coils. The Evod coils are about $10.00 for 5 coils and each coil lasts me at least 3 weeks. I keep the old parts around for emergency re-coiling should the zombie apocalypse hit. But it's just so much easier to buy em. Got tired of re-coiling.
Now for heavy duty mods with RBA's and heavy wire (like 28 ga)...well, they last forever...just clean em. So they can last for months each.
