I made do with a computer for 10 years once (upgrades). Eventually, the bus architecture changed so much I couldn't upgrade it anymore. 3 years is about norm. 5 if you push it. After that, since computing tech about doubles every 1.5 years, you're going to need a new system. Except for Tibs.
