This probably won't help much, Tibs. But since you caught it quickly and got him to the vet, at least he was kept comfortable.
And it's not your fault either...not much you can do when the vet doesn't answer the emergency phone.

poor atty - got to be something else to work in those temps
lost - the blockage was there - his bladder was pretty big and needed relief right away. i expect i might have to check with dil to find a vet in durham/raleigh for follow-up. our vet is a good, solid country vet and tom is getting the gold standard of treatment atm - catheter and iv hydration. but he might not be the best choice for what's to come after. he has no ultrasound or scans available. i'll worry about that when the time comes. first we need to see if tom will eat, drink and pee by himself.
