I hope the storm is more hype than reality.

I was talking to my mom about that yesterday. She was saying how nasty the weather is "these days". She's right...climate change is probably throwing some havoc into things. But, I told her, there's more hype about it now than we had "in the old days".

Hell, it's Winter. We get storms. They have snow.
This weather stuff is as bad as sports. Every single statistic on everything. "Historic storm" because this one had higher cloud tops. Next one is "historic" because there were more accidents (all tallied in realtime).

In the "old days" you just didn't know how many people had accidents and stuff....unless you went back historically and did the research in all the towns up the East Coast and 6 months later you got the data together and an approximation of the impact.

So....Meh. It's winter. If it's bad, don't go out if you can avoid it. Bring emergency stuff in the car. Go slow.
