Land of the Lost
Today is an active rest day in my workout. There's no football or much of anything in the way of sports. I think I am going to have a Delmonico steak on the grill and make it to the gym to ride the stationary bike for an hour. and then go see American sniper this afternoon or night.:)

Oh let me know how the movie is.

Lost!!!!!!!

That's one of the more "controversial" movies out in the last year. There's 1000 reviews, pro and con, about it on the net.
Overall it's supposed to be good entertainment. But it's also political, so you have to decide if you 'just want to see it for fun' or if you care about the politics.

There were two or three articles that came up about it in Google News alone in the past few days. ;)

Basically google it, and have fun reading.

So I'm gonna need some advice for when I get my new-fangled device. What is the difference b/t watts and volts?

forget about it ;) start at the lowest voltage setting and increase till you think you got the best setting for that particular atty and juice :D

Watts and volts are two different ways to measure the output of the device. Volts are what you're asking the battery to put out, and watts take into account the battery output and the resistance of the coil. Whichever you chose to use, start with the lowest setting and gradually increase it until your liquid tastes right.

Volts: How much the electricity want's to move from one side of the battery to the other (through the coil along the way). But that doesn't tell you much by itself. Because you don't know how many electrons are moving.

We'll use the water analogy.
Volts are like water pressure. If you have high water pressure, you get more water per second than lower pressure for a given size pipe. BUT....you can't tell how much WORK you could do with water at a given pressure unless you know the size of the pipe. A small garden hose at high pressure will do LESS work than a fire hose at lower pressure.

So Watts are total WORK than can be done. That's why light bulbs are in watts...it tells you how much "work" is done. Electric motors and electronic gadgets too. And also your electric bill is in 1000 watts per hour (kWh).

So upping the voltage will push more electrons through which ups the watts too. Also upping the watts ups the voltage. It's all related.

I'm not sure that's your real question though. What I think you want to know is....."Why do I care about VV versus VW?"

VW - variable watts - Adjusts the voltage automatically based on the resistance of the coil that you screw onto it. It calculates it for you. To do this, it has to read the ohms of the coil, and VW devices usually have a readout that will tell you the ohms of the coil.

VV is just a "hotter or colder" dial.

If given a choice, VW is nice because it USUALLY includes bonus stuff...like a display and readout of ohms/volts/battery level. VV can just be a dial.

Alberta can keep her darn clipper. Full load on my wood buggy. Fit most on the porch. I'll get the rest later or tomorrow.

Not sure if I'll get out shopping today or not but it's no biggie. We're always well stocked. Depends when hubs gets done helping friend in the garage.
