Looks like we'll just get rain, maybe a bit of thunder. North Alabama may get snow and ice. ick.
Time for me to get my very early, and very long, day started. (nothing like teaching one 2.5 hour class at 8am and another 2.5 hour class at 5pm)

And will someone please explain to me this need cats have to get on a table, nightstand or nearest available surface and incessantly knock everything on said surface to the floor? What is that????

"Toying" with prey is a common behavior in feline hunters. When your cat nudges a small, stationary object with her paw, she's practicing the same behavior. Your cat's instincts tell her that paperweight or knickknack could turn out to be a mouse. Her poking paw would send it scurrying, giving her a good game (and possibly a good lunch).

My boy just completely redeemed himself for knocking my stuff off of the table. He got in my lap, put his front paws on my chest and kissed me on my forehead - totally unsolicited.

Woke up to a phone call....no one there...automated voice just said "goodbye" and caller id says "roaming".
