Time for the every-fourth-Thursday ritual.

Leaving you with a question:
Why would an insurance company settle a "total" (car) claim for >2x Kelley Blue Book?... and that is AFTER deductible.

I say: don't question it... just go cash the damn check.

couldn't agree more...somewhat similar to a "total" (motorcycle) claim. ;)

I took her to the Animal Protective Assoc. of MO - convenient location just down the street from me - and she scanned positive for a microchip. They were able to retrieve the owner's information and left her a message. Rather than keeping her and waiting indefinitely to say goodbye, I left her with the APA. Luckily, you can check on the status of Lost & Found pets online. She wasn't on the "Reported Found" list for more than 24 hours.

Sounds like they were looking for her :)

but was she ever reported as lost? the owner might not care either way and kitty took a liking to you .....

Now, Tibs, advocating kitty thievery when there are so many foundlings that need homes?

(i hope you go for rescue rather than breeder, Mad)

not advocating thievery ;) but maybe kitty and owner aren't such a good match and the owner might consent to letting kitty hang out with mad knowing the two got along so splendidly?

That's how we acquired our Gizmo. He left his brother, two other cats and his owner because a dog was brought into the house.
He was having none of it. So, he took up residence here. After about a year, the owner came over with his vet history papers
and declared him officially ours. :) Great cat... the best I've ever known. (Those vet papers also solved the mystery why a
neutered cat appeared so... ummmm... "intact". The previous owner had "Neuticles" implanted. Link: http://www.neuticles.com/)

Anyway... the CAT made the decision. He was free to come and go, but liked it better here, sans yappy hyper canine.

Very cool, bear.

If know what tibs is saying. I gather she may have figured out how to leave before. So if she returns, she's welcome to stay for as long as she likes.

I appreciate picking rescue over breeder...I'm just afraid that with a rescue, there an increased chance of me being allergic (and more severely). If that's the case, I'd feel like a heel bringing a pet into my home only to "kick it out".

We want one of these cats:

Howdy everyone. :)
Skorp, if you got an F1 Savannah, it would be the closest to the Serval you could get. They are not like domesticated house cats, though. I have a Bengal, which is also a cross with a wild cat and he's an F4 or F5. Even as separated as he is from the wild cat in his breeding, there is a BIG difference between him and all the other "regular" cats I have ever owned. Think long and hard, and do a lot of research before diving into a Savannah. Just my :2c: :)
Also, Bengals are just as awesome as Savannahs. ;)

Two weeks until the first leg of the yearly "Run For The Annuals". Always two Thursdays before Memorial Day.

Load up the trunk... load up the interior.

x3.

:danger: around here due to frost... the 14th is as early as the date can get. Supply of Hefty [tm] Bags at the ready.

Hi Lost!

We've actually been looking into this for several years now and have resigned ourselves to a Savannah (F1 would be ideal, but we'd take SBT) as long as we live here. We haven't actually moved on this because of our ferrets, however now that we are down to the one, we are getting more serious. Bhaalu is getting on in years and is starting to have some more serious health issues. Once he crosses the Rainbow Bridge, we won't be getting another (the wife really takes it hard when they go) so we can get the Savannah.

Bengals are another option, but we'd prefer the Savannah.

Back to work:(

Frost, I think I remember that stuff, we barely had a winter here and already the temps are hitting 80
