Good luck Bear. Poor cat.

He needs hydration immediately. A tech can do that. No vet necessary. Then, they can
go from there during the day. I still say it's "something" lodged in his throat by his
behaviors. I'm taking teeth out of the equation... he tried to meow twice yesterday,
with no sound. His purr sounds "gutteral"... and the coughing and hacking points to
some kind of throat irritation.

Bloodwork (Saturday) results some time today.

Local vets here take 15 minutes for that. (depends on the test...but...machine spits most of that out immediately.)

Rather amazing. Vets have machines, human hospitals/labs have machines. Most do pretty much the same thing. Vet cost is like..IDK for sure...45 bucks and it prints out a whole page full of data in 15 minutes. Human hospitals: big costs, transportation back and forth to labs. Must be liability/calibration/central processing + recording costs, or doctors would have the machines in the office.

I digress.

Still, good luck to you and cat!

... (dehydration wrecks kidneys, I think) ...

His skin "bounces back" when pulled, unlike a truly dehydrated cat where the skin pretty much
"stays pulled". But he has not had water or food to speak of at home since Saturday, so an
IV of Ringers (or two) is called for.
