Just got back. Surgery is Thursday morning. Have to redo some things around the house before she comes home as she won't be allowed to jump for 8 weeks and she LOVES her love seat in the room with me at the computer desk. Think I will put cushions on floor and move frame into spare room, block off the family room and there is no place else she could jump. She would have the living room, dining room and kitchen to roam around in and get exercise.

Sorry for the rambling. I am so nervous and I know that probably sounds dumb, but she is my baby.

Hope ya'll are faring well in this unpredictable weather!!!
I certainly don't think you are being "dumb"
My Cleo had to have some major surgery when she was about 14, I was scared to death being put to sleep would be the end of her. She did marvelously though!!

We have a beautiful sunny day but it's sure gonna be a hot one.

Love and prayers for the baby to heal quickly, Kat. You do not sound dumb at all. Anyone who has a furbaby knows that they are like children.
    Good morning everyone. :)
Mom went to rehab yesterday. Hopefully this will be the start to a full recovery for her. :thumb:
    Good morning Lost :)
Hopefully your mother will continue to improve from this point on :)

Looks the storms moved through under us and through the Keene area. Didn't get much rain out of it.Sky is showing spots of blue now
We are likely to hit 100 degrees here, today.
Thank goodness it's supposed to cool down a bit tomorrow and Thursday.

Thank you Dale for the nice words. :)
With any luck, she might even be out of rehab in time for her grandson to be born - that's assuming he doesn't come early, which my brother seems to think will be the case.

    Good news Lost and Katmar.

but do you think it could be the cause for the increased data consumption on ecf since the switchover?
So many things changed at once, how do you isolate 1 part from all the others? It all adds up, collectively.

    G'mornin flyby, snails!

So, having spent the day researching, we have decided to not have the surgery. We want to try the conservative method. More and more dog owners are opting for this. It requires the same diligence of keeping her from running and jumping. They have custom made braces and she will go on glucosamine and chondroitin, along with fish oil. Already changed up the house so that there is only one place she could jump, and that would be the lazy boy couch in the family room. So, we block that off when we are not in there.

Waiting to talk to the vet about more measures, such as some laser treatments and physical therapy. Dogs under 30lbs OFTEN heal on their own with these kinds of measures. Keeping fingers crossed that this works. We can always do the surgery later if it doesn't work, but, from what I read, she has a high chance of complete recovery without surgery. Talked to a vet tech who went this route with her 90lb. dog and she did just fine. Puggers is 19 lbs, so it's not a lot of weight bearing to begin with.

    Just a long update...:)
